I wasn't a huge fan of the media interface for the Toyota Tundra that I traded in for my Gladiator and preferred Android Auto. Some, but very few vehicles have wireless abilities. So I ordered the wireless Android Auto adapter on Indie GoGo. It arrived today after a few months!!
It is simple, small and set up was a breeze. I downloaded the app, plugged the adapter into the USB port in the center console and away I went. It connected in a flash, had an update pending and works very well.
Only problems that I've seen so far are:
1. The USB port is always hot, so I'm not sure I want to leave it plugged in all the time as I don't drive daily except my work weeks.
2. I need to see if there is a setting where the adapter won't keep looking for the receiver without timing out.
3. I like the U-Connect so well I would probably use it most of the time anyway
Too bad a 3rd party had to develop what the manufacturer could probably do with ease.
