Hi All, just ordered the wolfbox dash cam and waiting on delivery.
I was looking at the OEM set up, which should have done before ordering, and it looks like a tight fit.

Did anyone use the bracket from Wolf to install camera instead of strapping on to existing mirror?

Suggestions and pics would be great.

Thanks.

I have mine installed with the OEM Bracket and Adaptive Cruise Control. I went with the G900 TriPro. You can make it work as is. If you use your sun visors you will have to move the mirror to lower them and put them back up. To make the front camera not not catch any of the front cover then it will be angled a little towards to the passenger side. I used the OBDII power connector on mine and it DOES NOT work with the TriPro so do not go that route just an FYI. It will cause the camera to continuously power cycle every 2-3 minutes. I might add like a 1/2 or 1/4 spacer on top of the OEM bracket to drop it down lower and that should allow the sun visors enough space to use without affecting the camera and also clear the front cover and put it back in the stock location.

You can check out the install on my Build Thread. It starts on Post #84

I just installed the G930 on my JT with Adaptive cruise. I am not sure if this is the case for all the G9 series kits, but I had to get an additional mount (model 179) from Wolfbox to install. I did not want to strap it to my OEM mirror. In regards to the Wolfbox mirror hitting the sun visors, I tried the 1/2" spacer trick as seen on a YouTube install but the drivers side visor still barely hits it. I might play with it some more and see if I can get it any better.
BTW- Wolfbox company is fantastic to deal with. They actually respond to emails and offered to send me the 170 bracket for free. This mount is also available on Amazon.

I'm in the process of installing a G930. Do you have a link to the spacer trick? I was thinking of just notching out the lower mount so I can clock it slightly to the passenger side.

I like Wolfobx products, but their accessories need help, or maybe their design team is incapable of seeing big picture.

The G930 is the only product that properly fits the Wrangler/Gladiator, or at least fits somewhat properly, with minimal blockage of view and interference with sun visors, yet you can't can't order the Jeep OEM mount for the G930? WTF? It's literally advertised as an option for vehicles that need a smaller width mirror.

The G900 line of mirrors is too large. It blocks view and prevents usage of sun visors, yet you can order an OEM mount for this mirror... stupid.

So I ordered the Gladiator appropriate #179 OEM kit for the G900 and then a #1 for the G930 in hopes I could combine the two. Turns out both kits use the same ball socket mount, but the G900 plate that the ball mount attaches to is every so slightly larger than the G930, literally only a couple millimeters larger. They could easily make the plate accept both mirrors by elongating the holes by a mm or two. Had I known this, I would have just ordered a #179 and elongated them myself instead of buying two kits. It's a simple oversight that if resolved would make things far easier for customers and more adaptable for their products.

Agreed on all points. I do wish they would package the G930 with the correct 179 bracket...AND rev the part so it fits without mirror contact. LOL
The youtube video I watched, that mentioned the 1/2 spacers, is linked here:

I bought 1/2" nylon spacers and longer screws off of Amazon. If I were to do it again (and i may go and have a run at it) I would offset the mirror bracket attach point about 3/4" to the right, passenger side of the top windshield mount.

Do you know which spacers and screws that you used? No link on the video for those. Thanks

following this thread. Looking to install the G900TriPro and use the spacer trick to lower the bracket. Most of the screenshots I see are looking out the back camera. I want to make sure the front camera clears the adaptive shroud and ideally the front hood. I used a blackvue camera on my old gladiator to record travel and offroad videos when living in Oregon. I now live in Texas and would love to do the same but the screenshot from the Maximus thread shows the shroud pretty significantly and the full hood. Not a dealbreaker, but trying to understand what the options are.
