This right here is why I’m looking to add a rear winch, either with a rear winch bumper or rear hitch receiver Setup.
That's exactly what my son kept saying after I told him I was putting a winch on the front!

Had a winch/hitch receiver on my old Renegade. Everytime I got stuck it was always easier to get pulled out backwards like below.

No way I could've been pulled out from the front without major damage.

I have a receiver winch mount - was thinking of a second winch to put on it and have in the back, but I'd need to run another battery back there or extend with welding cables and some connector of some type.

Them "little mud puddle's" can be deep especially there in Florida "Y'all have sinkholes" ;) I remember reading and seeing photos of Ocala one at a place I've been at many times.

I had some good friends in your town, I lost contact with years back. I spent a lot of time around there in 99-02 in between my deployments.
Yeah some of them tend to be bottomless hahaha

I had mine wired in to the battery using 2/0 or 4/0 gauge battery cable. I wired it like you would if you were putting a winch on a trailer. Had a quick disconnect like below.

There ya go, thanks.
I was thinking welding cable due to the flexibility and distance unless I somehow had a rear battery (a lot of extra work and weight)
I do plan on a small winch on my car hauler, this is a good idea for that.

Never had a winch. But it always seemed to me a rear winch would enable one to back out of the trouble one got into.

Unless, of course you ascribe to the Rubicon attitude. And I don't mean the trail in California.

Rear winch gets you out of trouble.
Front winch pulls you through so you can get into some more trouble.
