I guess it depends on the person. I bought my 16yo a wrangler and she loves it. She’s very responsible and drives well.

I helped my oldest grandson
purchase a 2011 JK Wrangler at 16.
Now 24, he has wrecked his third vehicle.
This time he was rear-ended.
Wait. Not so fast.

When I was 30, I was rear-ended,
but it was my fault.
"How is that", you ask.

At a red light
I noticed a driver who looked impaired.
I was in a hurry and decided
to put some distance between us
and raced ahead to the next red light.
A minute later, he crashed into me.

I should have let him go ahead of me
and stayed behind him.
Defensive driving is a mindset.
