Looking at the long wheel base and giant quarter panels. It’s pretty evident that the bed-sliders wont prevent much damage on tight off-camber trails with trees (Everything in New England.) I suspect we will see crushed quarter panels and missing taillight galore once people start off-roading these.
My idea so far is a plate bumper that is at or just over the height of the black trim stopping just behind the fender. I would add a tube piece that goes to just under the taillight and slopes down to the fender. If it sticks out just wider than the taillight it should be enough to keep trees at bay. If a 35 really ticks under the bed no need for a tire carrier.
The bumper I built for my Tacoma. So my idea would be to shrink the hoop height eliminating the straight sections keeping similar bends.
You can see the pre-hoop damage as I built it in stages and found needed add ons. Not making that mistake again.
I’m looking forward to seeing some great products come out as this will be my first Jeep! As a 1st gen Tacoma owner i have always been given limited choices and been forced to build my own stuff. Sadly I no longer have time. Anyone have ideas what they would want to see or examples?
