Great trip @azmojave. Thanks for sharing.Looks like a great trip! I've wanted to explore UT for years but haven't been able to do it yet. One of these days...
Couldnāt agree more. I can pull off a reasonable number of 3 and 4 day weekends, but full weeks away from clients is tough. Since clients pay for Jeep parts and eventually retirement. I admit Iām spoiled being 4 hours from Moab. I need to remember that I can go there in the winter. We saw so much but it went by in a flash. I canāt wait to retire so we can spend more time at each location. I consider these pre-retirement trips to be scouting runs, to find where to go again. ?
I havenāt done it, but really want to. Iām considering adding it as a detour on the way home from the rubicon in august, but it might add too much time. If not, definitely next year. Want to plan a rim rocker excursion?Did I ask you about Rimrocker? Another trip on my list. Montrose to Moab.
Any idea how long it takes without rushing too much, but also without purposefully going slow? Stupid work.Heck yeah! Next year would be good. Maybe around this time? (Memorial Day)
Nice photography Bobby.I added links above to the rest of the pics in each post.

I decided about a month ago that I wanted to take a trip the week before Memorial Day this year, so I recruited a couple buddies and we went for it. These guys have been on an adventure with me before, so they knew what they were getting into LOL. It was a long trip but we had a blast!

I pieced together a bunch of routes I wanted to do in Utah, and we headed out on Sunday. We stopped at Monument Valley and took the self guided tour on a dirt loop. It was actually pretty fun. Iāve driven through on the highway for years but never stopped. Iām glad I finally did. View attachment 246461
After that we headed up Moki Dugway, a cool set of switchbacks that lift you up about 1000 ft.

We found a nice camp spot on Muley Point and relaxed to a beautiful view of Monument Valley in the distance.

Great advice, I appreciate it!I love it. I pull a trailer for a living so I think itās fun dragging it around. It will go anywhere I wanna go, including on the rocks. My biggest suggestion is if you plan on taking yours offroad, invest in the best suspension you can. Iām on my third suspension and finally got it right. It has one tonne (2200 lb) Timbren axle less suspension. Works great.

I have been wanting to do this with my kids, drive to Utah and see the Mighty 5. My wife says we will all kill each other on the drive there. So we are considering just flying into LV and renting a Jeep and maybe visiting two parks + the Grand Canyon (or some variation thereof).
My daughter will be 13 and son will be 12 - I am running out of time with them.
