Yaesu FTM-400 install

Installing a Yaesu FTM-400 this is the control head have not mounted the transceiver.
Any others with radios if so where did you mount the radios and or antennas.
I would love to see pictures of other radio installs

FTM400. Head on Grab bar and deck behind seat. Have a back rack with my antenna on it.

Radio behind rear seat, topsy hood mount, diamond antenna.

Highly recommend this antenna as it does not need a ground and jeeps are remarkably scarce in that area.

Dipped the mount In plasti dip. Took 4 dips. Has a nice clean look.

I installed the antenna mounts today

Installed the antenna and radio went for a test drive to mount Lemmon. I put the radio on top of the cross bream behind the driver.

Right now my antenna is mounted in the bed but I plan on moving it up front so I can get a cap or roll bar

This is an amp mount for the JT that I mounted the radio to..it goes under the passenger seat

Not a Yaesu (it's a 100-watt Vertex), but shows another mounting option using RAM Mount components. The control head is mounted on the stalk attached to a seat-mount bolt with the rest of the radio under the passenger seat.

Thanks for all the pictures gives me ideas. I have a couple of HF radios that I am going to mount.

Dipped the mount In plasti dip. Took 4 dips. Has a nice clean look.

It kills me that I didn't think of this and now I'm stealing it. I ended up using a little Xpel film under the mount to prevent damage and now that I'm moving it, I have to clean up the leftover adhesive.

Hey, I get something right once in a while ...

For reference, it worked best with the liquid (not spray) plastidip ... And it took 4 dips (30 mins apart).

The first 2 dips I hung the mount from a hanger. The last 2 I inverted it and put in a vice ...

If you dont do this you get a fatter blob at the bottom ... It ends up being relatively uniform if you do what I did in this case ...

Isn't Vertex Yaesu under same ownership or something ? Both good radios ...

What are you using for the original antenna mount? That looks real interesting to me

I made the original mount out of 1" square aluminum tubing with a steel plate attached to the top with small brackets. It was bolted to the 2 holes in the front of the bed.
