My wife used to drive my Wrangler but refuses to drive the Gladiator. She sees it as work truck and would not let me take it when I am driving her to a party :) .

Ford was my second choice. But They don’t make it easy to figure out tow capacity of individual trucks at the dealer. With ram, you just plug in the vin on the ram website and boom, the tow capacity and payload are listed. Plus, I couldn’t find any fords with nice features and the middle front seat. All the 6 seaters were stripped down models. With ram I got the Laramie trim with lots of nice features. Last, I love that v8. It sounds so nice. Spec wise, the ford is better in a lot of ways.

Like I said, the f150 out specs the ram for sure.

The ram was my 2nd choice I just don't like the look of the Chevy's
yeah, I didn’t mind the exterior look of the Chevy, but the interior just looked dated. I know the owner of my local Chevy dealership too, so I really wanted to like it. I would have easily Gotten a great deal on it. It took a while to find a good deal on my RAM. Some dealerships would not budge on price at all. Mine was stickered at 59k and I got it for 51k. It was 56k out the door with warranty, fees and taxes. I sold my 2020 gladiator JTR for 48k.

You'd be surprised

They're huge
I had a Silverado with the flip up arm rest/center console deal. It was nice when the girl I was seeing then wanted to sit there. Otherwise, it would have been awkward. A Ram isn’t any bigger.

Anyway, just a random comment. Y’all do you if you want to have people sit like that. Don’t care enough to discuss it more.

Hey everyone,
This has been the best vehicle forum I have ever been a part of. So, instead of going quietly into the night, like usual, I wanted to say thanks to all the great folks and moderators. I learned a ton here and had quite a few laughs. I can never resist the enjoyment of a dumpster fire thread. And there’s been a few here to enjoy.

I really didn’t want to sell my gladiator but I needed more tow capacity and one extra seat, 5 vs 6. So I got a ram 1500. It’s not as exciting but it is a pretty nice truck. And it fits in the garage. I already added a flowmaster muffler to it and have a list of mods for it. I just can’t leave things stock.
Thanks again everyone.

I’ll leave you with this to chew on: if apple made a car, would it have windows?

How big of a travel trailer? We bought our M101 A3 from a fellow that upgraded to a Diesel Rubicon so he could tow a shiny new travel trailer his wife approved of. It looked similar in size to our 24', and I figure his Diesel will be a lot happier with 6,000 lb of trailer than our gas Rubicon is.

Just sayin', the Jeep pickups tow pretty damned well.

My pops just picked up a Ram 1500, beautiful truck and super comfortable on the journey home from Peterson Jeep Ram in Idaho back to Vegas. I can’t say I blame you. I know if I ever get a travel trailer we’ll need a full size truck, for now I’ll just stay in love with my JT.

Its the diesel derating issue that concerns me in the heat. This past weekend was the start of camping season for us in the desert. On the way up to cooler campgrounds I saw oil temps up to 245 on the steeper inclines. If I was towing anything I would have needed to slow way down and I don’t feel safe doing 55-60 when others zoom past at 90+ on the stretches of Utah highway with 80mph speed limits.

I suppose I can build a small trailer too, but I haven’t convinced myself that’s really too much better than tent camping. If I’m going to tow living quarters it had better have a place to poo, shower and have an a/c. Maybe a pop up can fit me too. I haven’t looked too terribly hard honestly.

I don't exceed 65 towing our big trailer; we see the results of that going to the Central Coast, with brodozer debris from wrecked trailers and 80 MPH passing with toy haulers.

Different environment, but I wouldn't do 70 with our travel trailer, on trailer tires. The little Jeep trailer has 35" AT's 113S rated, totally different setup.

I get it, though.

I’m intrigued about your trailer though, tell me a bit about it.
