I began installing my Steersmarts Yeti HD Pro track bar on my ‘22 Rubicon JT, but ran into a problem.

The passenger side axle saddle bracket is too shallow for the bushing to line up with the bracket hole.

I don’t want to enlarge the bracket bolt hole in case I ever go back to stock, and I don’t really want to grind down the track bar end ridge because… rust.

The axle bracket is a saddle style with an oval hole in the bottom to allow for end link clearance. I think the best solution it to take a die grinder to the edges of the bracket bottom cutout to achieve more depth?!?!

Has anybody run into this issue, and what was your solution? Thanks.

There is a whole at the bottom of the bracket that just needs to open up a bit. I used a heavy dremel and didn't take much. It will still work with stock even if you open it up, don't think the Yeti will work without doing it

Edit Should have read your post all the way through. Yes to the die grinder, works fine.

This is the solution. Throw some black spray paint over the newly exposed metal to prevent rust. I had to do the same thing with my Metalcloak track bar.

I’ll snap a pic and add it here, was too surprised and disappointed to think of it at the time.

I thought they all had to have a bit of material removed. If you didn't you might make sure there is no binding as the bar moves up and down.

Update on track bar issue….

Closer inspection showed the clearance issue was due to the bushing being slightly off center. I was able to “massage” it all into place. I checked for binding, no problems so went ahead with the install, no grinding required.
