Not bad. But the Bestop Sunrider still seem superior. Easier to open and close without having to get out of the Jeep.
My initial thought was "vastly inferior, must be notably cheaper"

So i looked it up. sunrider is a grand today (inflation... got mine for $770), rolltop is $750... OUCH.

For anyone considering this thing, trust me the extra $250 is absolutely worth it. I can open and close my sunrider without ever leaving my driver's seat. Not to mention it can be easily opened and closed while driving up to 30mph.

I literally thought the same thing. I thought this would be under $400. Making it a cheaper option to the sunrider. Yeah, I'll stick to the sunrider. With that said. You can find Sunriders on Facebook Market for under $400. Sometimes brand new or only used a few times..

Sunrider is often on sale, and can be purchased with a new Jeep for under a grand as I recall (not much) - at least that's how it was this spring? Could have changed?

The ability to open and close from inside is almost a must for some, but the low profile and such some others may like. If you own a Jeep, you likely aren't thinking much of stuff sticking up into the air anyway?

I will suggest one thing this type has going for it - more universal fit.
I say that because I have discovered over the last few months - I ain't the only one battling Jeep's inconsistent tolerances in construction. I've found out some others are having severe fit issues like mine. How do we know it's the fault of Jeep?
Because we've tried my tops on other vehicles and they usually fit perfectly. And - there are others in another state going through this.

When I installed my lone peak camper, I had to remove the sunrider. There's no vertical room to open it. However with this, I could run with it. Not worth more then $400 though. That price is insane.

the sunrider takes up too much real-estate when open and look wonky. Just like the soft tops but i too like to have an easy top to open. I like that i can take my hard top off myself though.

Following on this, as an alterative to the Sunrider and potential problems with it (see ShadowsPapa). I know, many haven't had any problems with their earlier year JTs. I have always liked the Sunrider, but I do like the lower profile it presents when opened and am wondering how it is with noise and rain intrusion. Would like to hear some real world reviews after it has been out and used by others before even considering buying.
I already have a mesh sunscreen installed which may pose a bit of a hassle when opening or closing the Sunrider.

Quadratech has never been known for medium to low prices. I bought my Synergy springs and some other stuff from alternative vendors for a lot less money. They get a premium for their stuff.

The velcro on the sides reminds me of the old tonneau covers that had velcro. When the temps go colder… the fabric would shrink and you couldn’t stretch it enough to make it stick to the velcro.

Meh…..

I’d take some SOFT freedom panels please……. Utilize the same frame & attachment points as the hard panels but with fabric. Much lighter…easier to take on/off….. You could keep your hard panels in the basement free of dents & scratches from removing /installing them. And you don’t have extra hardware to remove if you want to take the hard top off.

+1 for the Sunrider. I have had one since they first came out and ran it 6 months of the year on my JL (I ran the soft top in the summer.) I have since moved it to the JT and it fits as perfectly as it did on the JL and it is holding up very well, even with years of use. You cannot beat opening and closing from your seat and I also have the sun screen, wich rolls in and out with no velcro.

IF this thing was under $500 I´d be all over it for my JL. But at this price, I´d go Sunrider, all the way.

I would bet Quadratec will run some sales where it gets down to $599 for just the top in black diamond. That´d be tempting, but still no cigar. They´ll do that when Bestop runs a sale on the Sunrider.

When I bought my Sunrider, I want to say it was around $600 for the twill. SO they are over 60% more expensive now. That is way beyond inflation. I guess demand was high enough that they adjusted to the market.
