I ordered mine Feb 8th - six months ago yesterday, from @OffroadAlliance.com as well. When did you order @XJFanatic ? Interested to hear when SmoothRegulator ordered as well.
Ordered my evo sport on the 10th of Feb as the quoted me a delivery of early April.

FWIW I never expected that as everyone else at the time was a 6-8 month lead. Just went with them as they didn’t charge taxes. I reached out to @SmartCap back in May-June timeframe they projected September and that’s what Offroad Alliance is saying as well. So hoping that’s accurate. As long as I get it before I PCS in the second half of 23…

We completely understand the frustration on the lead times and please know, we're right there with you. Although supply chain sounds like a feeble excuse, it’s actually legitimate. We can usually see when a container ship leaves port overseas. We can then track it across the sea and know when it gets to port. That’s when we are at a loss for information. Once the ships get to port we don’t know when they are unloaded or when the cargo is released from port. It’s not until the caps appear at our warehouses that we know what’s in them. They are also released at various times so we never know which container is coming, what's in it or how many actually arrived. It’s very difficult for us to predict anything so we’ve opted to not predict. This seems much more effective than predicting incorrectly. We're happy to cancel anyone's order at anytime for a full refund prior to shipment. Should you cancel, these caps are always sold out so if cancel, you would lose your spot in the queue.

Please know that caps are starting to arrive and ship out. We have never had an order not be fulfilled. All of the backlog should be cleared here soon with Smartcap's new Texas facility coming online. And once it is online, lead times for all of their most popular caps will be dramatically reduced.

We are always open to suggestions how to work around these issues and should you have any ideas please email me, the owner, directly. [email protected]. I know this doesn’t help you with an exact timeline, but I can tell you that it’s a great product and worth waiting for. I have one on my Gladiator.

Yeah when I ordered they said 2-3 months then it went quiet. I just want it over & done but don’t want it showing up while I’m out of town for 10 days in Sept. My luck that is exactly when it will come in.

Jeff I don’t hold any negative sentiments towards you or Offroad Alliance. You and your staff have also been responsive to my inquiries both via DM here or email. Am I frustrated yes, but not with you guys. And luckily the past 14 years in the Army have made me very skilled at frustrated waiting. ? I have no intentions of canceling my order.

I do think there is something off on the US distribution side for Smartcap. But it’s all speculation based on anecdotal evidence so it is what it is.

My dealer seems to think it will be next month. He also indicated they will have to hire staff, train them, and then fill first in first out orders. But with the US based plant, they won’t have to deal with customs or shipping from overseas issues.

Mine is still for sale for those who can’t wait.

I just got an update from my dealer in San Antonio. He said he talked to his regional RSI representative last week. He confirmed that RSI IS still filling orders made last November for Gladiators and Tacomas, which are their biggest demand. That said, he is projecting a 4-month order to delivery timeline if you order now. RSI is building a factory in the Dallas area which should mitigate much of the wait time, as we won’t have to wait for the caps to clear the port.

While my RSI dealer doesn’t have any in stock, he is currently selling ordered adventure models for $4,000-ish and the sport models for $4,400-ish. That price includes assembly and installation, but not taxes.

Can you arrange a lower price if you assemble it yourself. Certainly. But any warranty or defect issues you will have to arrange yourself.

Mine is the sport model and is still for sale.
I don't get this.

I ordered mine from Offroad Alliance in January 2022. I picked up the cap at their warehouse in April 2022.

Was it the Evo or Adventure model? As I understand the adventure model is the one with the longest delay.

I hear you. I put my name on the list in Dec and got mine in Feb. I think the dealers tell people to expect a certain timeline (e.g. 6 months or whatever) because they don’t have visibility into the actual timeline and the dealers have no idea what RSI application or model is going to be delivered. It seems RSI doesn’t do a good job at telling dealers what is coming. However, RSI has no control over the ports and the import/customs workers schedules. Therefore, RSI cannot give an accurate timeline. They’re pushing out what they can when they can.

What model did you order?

I’m working with OA now for more info but mine was an Adventure model placed in Nov.

I am the opposite - I don't understand why some people have the experience like you and why so many others have been waiting 6 months or more like me. Did I not pay full price in a nice way?

on the offroadalliance website, if you place the order for gladiator SmartCap Adventure now, it shows: EXPECTED TO SHIP 9/15/2022
obviously, it's not true @OffroadAlliance.com
