Yeah, like previously noted, I’d have a full sized if I wasn’t tired of parking them. My Silverados and Sierras were fantastic trucks. Did everything great and I never had one issue. I bought an 09 Frontier when I was in CO because it could actually fit on a trail. I went back to a Sierra and it was flawless, but I was tired of parking it downtown. Then I got my ‘17 Canyon and that was the best truck I ever had. It was fast for a truck and handled great and towed and hauled great and it was the perfect size and no issues with it. Then I got my Gladiator because I have a Jeep sickness. It does one of the above well and it’s always in the shop. Lol. It’s definitely not the best truck I’ve ever had but I like it better. I think I have some sort of a mental condition.

I take it he doesn't like Ridgelines.
It's all relative. When I drove my 1 ton Ford F350 turbodiesel. I never considered 1/2 tons real trucks. lol.

I have to admit. I would never buy a Honda Ridgeline, but I'm sure this vehicle works for some individuals.

As far as the JT being a 1/2 ton or 1/4 ton. Who cares?

Look up the dimensions of the current Gladiator to the original full sized Gladiator. The length is about the same, but it’s slightly narrower. Going from memory here, but It’s very close in size.

It might survive fins and things with lots of scratches, but the rubicon would put it on a salvage trailer, in the first hour.
Right. So why all the angst on here about a vehicle that's outclassed by Gladiators, particularly our Rubicons. I guess we on the forum don't have anything better to do! I realize that CR rates the Honda above the Gladiator and Tacoma. I often wonder how they function with their heads so far up their you know whats.

Every time I get into my JTR I'm amazed at what a modern vehicle it is, and when I'm crawling over rock stairs or steep waterfalls (i.e 3 or more feet high), I'm amazed even more. Then back on the highway in air conditioned comfort listening to my favorite rock tunes, and watching the off-road instruments. Sure, it doesn't ride like a Ridgeline, but still it's awfully comfortable for a vehicle that can do what it does off-road. Compared to my M38A1 in the 60s or my CJ5 in the 70s, no comparison.

I consider these trucks mid sized half ton trucks, these damn things got solid axles front and back and it's a trucks,May not haul as much as a actually full size half ton but that's why I call em midsized 1/2 ton or baby half tons lol

Heck I imagine our dimensions are pretty similar to a 90's Silverado.
We definitely have capability in our “mid sized” trucks that would have been considered 1/2 ton full sized in the recent past.
