Aug 22 build, no cover. It’s best, the JY has a clean, open engine bay and there’s no benefit from adding clutter.

So you never found the bolts?Yea. They started leaving them off. They're pretty useless anyway. I took mine off about three years ago and never put it back on. I started using it as a holder for nuts and bolts. I don't know where it is now.
I think I worded it wrong. What I meant by using it to hold nuts and bolts was when I'm working on my Jeep, I used the cover as a plate to hold the nuts and bolts that I removed so I knew where they were when I get ready to reinstall them.So you never found the bolts?

As an engine cover, didn't need it. As a nut, bolt, and parts holder, useful.
Gotcha! Half asleep. Slow to catch that one.? I gotta do better!?was a joke
Another video ideaYea. They started leaving them off. They're pretty useless anyway. I took mine off about three years ago and never put it back on. I started using it as a holder for nuts and bolts. I don't know where it is now.
Ahhhhh........ I just screenshot that idea. Now, I have to dig through the storage shed to find that cover. Either find the one I took off my JT or my wife's JKU. Then go find a flywheel. You're on to something. Wait for that video. It's coming!?For those who missed it..............
But keep on reporting if your 2022 doesn't have a cover LOL
For those who removed it - or those who think it makes a good place to hold nuts and bolts or small tools, here's an idea for you:
Take a flywheel (maybe one of the failed Jeep flywheels) and lay it flat on your welding bench.
Take a piece of 1" black pipe about 30" tall or so, threaded on the top end, and weld it to the center of the flywheel.
On top of that pipe, thread a pipe flange, and attach the engine cover to the pipe flange.
You now have a small tool stand that says "Jeep" on it
Both our 21 JL and 22 JT had the engine cover. The 22 JT's cover is in the shop. For those who missed it..............

Your JT cover was dealer installed, not factory. The document PDF I posted a page or two back is to tell dealers " we see what you are doing, cut it out". That's basically a GPOP document. Both our 21 JL and 22 JT had the engine cover. The 22 JT's cover is in the shop.
Not weird, just eccentric.I guess I am weird, I took the engine cover off my 2021 Gladiator and put it on my 2022 Gladiator.
The first few months they still had the brackets. That's how it was so easy for dealers to think it was just "forgotten" so they ordered them and slapped them on and Jeep noticed this. Later, the brackets were left off as well. Not weird, just eccentric.
I did the same thing but failed in my mission. I removed the cover on my 2020 JTR when I traded it in thinking I would put it on my 2023 JTM that came without one. Unbeknownst to me at the time, it requires some attachment bolts/brackets that I didn't take off.
I should have read up on the forums.
