I was watching Matt’s Off-road Recovery today and the folks from this company gave Matt one of these rolls. I got curious and checked to see if they made one for the JT and sure enough they had one. At $349 and no real info on what you get or why, I don’t think I’ll be pulling the trigger any time soon though.

I like the idea of a vehicle specific tool kit. I have a kit I made myself that I keep in my truck. It’s not really specific to the JT though with a few exceptions I’ve noted here and there. Just a bunch of common assorted wrenches, sockets, plier, etc, I hope would be enough to meet emergency needs should it ever arrive.

I wish these guys would improve that site and provide more information on what they give you and why. I admit, they’ve got my attention at least. Anybody know anything about them or actually have one of these?

I'd want to know exactly what was in it.........

I don't always like people choosing tools for me so I'd likely figure it out myself based on commonly broken or accessed items, or things that need to be tightened now and then.
So far the fasteners I've run into are not that diverse in size as far as wrenches or sockets.

I'd want to know what was in it, why those were their choices, what were they aiming at.

I saw the same thing this morning watching that video. I too checked their site to see what they had for the JT.

While not specific it does list these items:

  1. Customized, heavy-duty nylon tool bag
  2. One impact adapter/reducer set
  3. One ball pein hammer
  4. One set of slip joint pliers
  5. One set of long nose pliers
  6. Three combination wrenches
  7. One flare nut wrench
  8. Two screwdrivers
  9. One breaker bar
  10. One quick-release ratchet
  11. Eight sockets (varying sizes)
  12. Two specialty sockets
  13. Two extensions

It’s difficult for me to take a retailer seriously if they don’t even have their own domain. And not a single picture of the open roll? And it seems expensive for what it is - especially without details regarding quality. The concept is reasonable, but the execution leave me a lot to be desired.

And all for $349? What a bargain. . .

Most of those things I already have multiples of, in some cases, 3 or 4 of each, so I guess I can make my own kit for free!

Depending on your host, domains may be free. No reason to not have your own.

For that price just take a walk through your nearest Lowe’s HF, or Home Dept and see what kind of tool kits you could pick up. Unless they’re hand made and dipped in gold it seems astronomically priced to me.

Side note… is it just me or does this meme of Jack Nicholson look like an “after” picture of Leonardo DiCaprio?
From looking at that. Makes you wonder if Jack is Leo's dad. They do look alike and act alike in some ways.

Adjustable wrench. Ratchet (1/2 and 3/8) + 21mm, 19mm, 18mm, 17mm. Axle nut socket (35mm?). Brake caliper bolt socket/wrench. Bailing wire. Duct Tape. Pliers. Deadblow hammer. Multi-screwdriver. More bailing wire and tape.

If those can't help you, you're in trouble.

Lol I too saw the video this morning and was going to google this later tonight… I’ll check out your link. Thanks!

edit;

wtf… $349? Here I have an idea….

Have money left over for half a tank of fuel with this combination + lifetime warranty..

This niche overlanding gear whoring is really getting out of hand.
