Thanks guys. Love my current set up but figure the rubicon springs and shocks would level things out and make for a nice ride for the price. At that point 37’s and gears seem to be the next step!

I did exactly that first

Rubicon Takeoffs, Teraflex 2.5 spacer, and 35s

I ended up with a 3.5" lift and 37s. It wheeled fine with the original setup, but became amazing with the current setup

Wanted more flex. Learned more. Wanted to go to 37s. Clayton 2.5 has adjustable control arms and as my driving got better I wanted to try bigger stuff. Here is a good showcase of how the Clayton Lift flexes. My preferences is low center of gravity with the biggest tire I can run and the most flex. It suits my driving style.

Why did you end up replacing the Rubi springs?

All good reasons. I have a Clayton 2.5" on mine, but mine is just a mall crawler.

I thought it would be good for OP to know why someone would replace a Rubi springs / spacer lift.

Great question to ask. Appreciate you throwing that out there. I would not run 37s on a Sport S and Rubicon take offs...from my time off road, 37s and a 2.5" lift is the sweet spot for the JT for DD and decent wheeling.
My understanding is that the Mopar lift doesn't include adjustable control arms and this is a limitation. It's why I went Clayton. I avoided a bigger lift because Metal Cloak recommends a new drive shaft at 3.5 inches and I wanted that lower center of gravity because tippy 26 degrees plus makes me nervous.

All good reasons. I have a Clayton 2.5" on mine, but mine is just a mall crawler.

Another option you may want to consider is JTRD front springs. They will give you a nice 2” lift and help with the overly soft ride. Mine is has 2” spacer front and rear plus JTRD springs up front. The ride is so much better in my opinion as the stock sport springs just couldn’t handle the bumper weight.

Thanks guys. I will start hunting down some take offs soon. At that point I'll have to decide if stepping up to 37's is worth it. I feel like with 37's I would need to add more bump stop to disconnect the sway bar.

Rubicon takeoffs are only going to yield 1" of extra lift and that's if you don't get the softer Rubicon springs. There are two versions floating around. I did Rubicon Takeoffs on mine with the Fox Rubicon shocks and a 2.5" Readylift SST lift Kit. I had the 2.5" Readylift lift kit installed first and I added the Rubicon Takeoffs about 4 months later. I got the stiffer Rubicon suspension and with the front bumper and Winch on mine it yielded 3/4 inches of extra lift.

Picture for reference. Left side is with Rubicon Takeoffs and 2.5" spacer lift and right side is without and 2.5" spacer lift.

Thanks Jamie. Any problems flexing running 37's with this set up (sst + rubi springs)? Did you ever disconnect the sway bar?

A 1” lift for $200 isn't a bad return for your money and time.

My challenge is finding a Rubicon take-off suspension for a diesel Gladiator. Gas spring (firm and soft) are everywhere….

Unless your doing some extreme rock crawling you should be fine. I've disconnected a few times and stuffed the wheels once or twice with no issues. Anything bigger than a 37, then I'd probably go up in lift a inch or 2 more.
