Hello all, was planning to do a Teraflex 2.5" spacer lift with 35 inch tires and call it a day for my stock sport S. However, I keep seeing Rubicon takeoff suspension for sale that I'm reading can provide about a 1-1.5" lift so now it's got me thinking.

I do not "rock crawl" but love hitting the trails so I want just a bit of clearance to ensure no rubbing.

Would you do:
1. Rubicon takeoff
2. Teraflex 2.5" kit
3. Both of them together

For the price of $200 for takeoffs I'm wondering if the shocks are worth adding to this proposed setup.

TIA and appreciate any input you have

Rubicon take off with a 3/4 spacer up front would be pretty nice with 35s.
Thanks for the reply. I'm doing quite a bit of research before doing anything. I'm coming from a lifted JKU Rubicon and I must say, I LOVE the ride of the Gladiator so much more. The longer wheelbase and suspension just seems way smoother. I don't want to lose any ride quality or as little amount as possible...but gotta have those 35s lol

I added the mopar 2” lift with 35s and mine seems like it rides better than it did stock.

I did runicon takeoff shocks and springs. The ride is better IMO. Sport S is bouncy and soft and rubicon is stiffer which I prefer.

Of course the Mopar 2 inch lift would be better if it's in the budget.

Iam guessing I would need rubicon front fenders for full articulation without rubbing with my 35's and rubi suspension but it hasn't been an issue yet.

Rubicon takeoffs are only going to yield 1" of extra lift and that's if you don't get the softer Rubicon springs. There are two versions floating around. I did Rubicon Takeoffs on mine with the Fox Rubicon shocks and a 2.5" Readylift SST lift Kit. I had the 2.5" Readylift lift kit installed first and I added the Rubicon Takeoffs about 4 months later. I got the stiffer Rubicon suspension and with the front bumper and Winch on mine it yielded 3/4 inches of extra lift.

Picture for reference. Left side is with Rubicon Takeoffs and 2.5" spacer lift and right side is without and 2.5" spacer lift.

All you need from "Rubicon take-off suspension" is the springs (and shocks if you wish)
The rest is moot because you already have those same parts.
I put the lower of the 3 Rubicon spring numbers under the front of my Overland and got 7/8" or so, perhaps 1".
There are three Rubicon spring numbers THAT I AM AWARE OF, and that least to 2 different combinations. There MAY BE MORE but I have not seen every JT Rubicon front spring ever used.

It not only depends on the Rubicon they came off of, but the truck they are going under.
I measured mine several times - bumper, wheel opening, other spots, and I measured after driving and backing it back into my garage, and it was still .875-1" difference.
So even with those lower numbers I basically got what I'd call 1".
With the heavier Rubicon springs I may have gained over 1"- I'll never know because I'm happy with how things sit and ride (at this point anyway, who knows about 2 years from now)

With a heavy winch and the steel bumper I added later, I lost almost .5" of that inch gain so I put Daystar spacers under and gained it back and in the end had roughly 1.25" lift with the lower number Rubicon front springs and the .75" Daystar spacers after adding all that weight.
The math works -
Rubicon springs - gain 1",
Winch, steel bumper, skid plate - dropped .5"
.75" Daystar spacers, the final measurement is 1.25" higher than before I started. So my first gain was 1".

I am looking to do the same thing. Already have the same 2.5” spacer lift but want to add another .75” or so to the front. Did you have to replace the sway bar end links or do an adjustable track bar?

@TMSport You move the rear sway bar links to the front and that kit comes with rear replacement sway bar links. It's not required to add a adjustable track bar but it will be off center by about a 1/4 inch. I drove with mine off center for about 6 months but ended up replacing my stock one just because I figured it wouldn't hurt and I got a good deal on a adjustable one.

If all you want is enough clearance to put on 35s with no rubbing a much easier option would be to get some rubicon take off flares or buy some from mopar.. i got some rubicon take off shocks, springs and some 3/4 inch spacers to level it, thinking i would need the extra lift… i also got the flares…i put the flares on first because of time and now looking at i def dont think i need any more lift to fit 35s… it gained around 2 inches at the top and around an inch in the back. They were super easy to install

Thanks!
I'm already running 35's on the 2.5" lift with no problems. Now with the extra weight up front I am wanting to get rid of some of the rake and maybe get more room for 37's down the road. Seems like a win, plus adding the fox shocks.

You can run 37's with the 2.5" lift, there's plenty of room for 37's. I ran 35's on mine stock and had no rubbing and no issues. Here's mine before I put the lift on, stock wheels and sitting stock on BFG KO2 35's

I went for the 2.5 clayton for my 37s.

Also regard my sport to 4.88 when I did 35s.
