Why not buy a Centerforce dual friction clutch?

I want to thank you guys for all of your advice and feedback on your new clutch installs. My JT is now sporting a Centerforce clutch heavy flywheel and hydrolics.
The new clutch is by far my best money spent on an upgrade. The new flywheel retains energy way better. This not only smooths out the acceleration but there is a big difference shifting through first, second and third. The pedal pressure makes clutch control easier and more positive. So much easier to start from dead stop wothout having to fiscally watch your tach( forward and reverse). Also noticed the engine retains more energy and doesnt to lug down as much.
I also have the Idrive throttle controller which at times was a little erratic. The flywheel smoothed that out as well. I look forward to trying the different settings again.
This is really how this Jeep should have left the factory, I'm very recommend the Centerforce 100%.

Are these still like a year out? I'm at 14k miles and my clutch is starting to make some clang-clang noises going from 1-2 and 2-3 ?

Mine too. I keep wondering if it's in my head but my 1-2 is a little clunky. Sitting at 16k miles. Ridiculous...

Mine makes the "cling-cling" metallic noise a few moments after getting into 2nd gear or 3rd gear. I knew these clutches were junk before I bought my truck so I'm not that worried about it but it would be nice to know that I can easily get a centerforce and avoid putting the stockee back in after its inevitably shorter-than-usual lifespan.

It's actually normal to get some minor clanking noises from the trans mine does or did, I haven't really noticed any changes yet. The manual even states that the transmission will make light clanking noises when shifting.
I contacted Centerforce a few months back and had them get me the item numbers for the two different kits available. Here's what they sent me below. Then started seaching the web. The best price I found was through a vendor on Amazon.

On an 80s Mustang I had to put in a new drive shaft (twisted the original). The new one was large diameter aluminum and rang like a bell every time you shifted.

My truck at 9600 miles has started making a slow rumble noise when idling with the clutch pedal released. If i press the pedal an inch or so in the rumble gets louder. If I press further then it goes away. Throwout bearing? I expect that a Centerforce is in the near future.

Any tradeoffs with the dual friction?

I went with the Centerforce II, and not the dual friction, so I couldn't tell ya'. I think the guys that have the dual friction love them.

I have Dual Friction and love it. Huge improvement over stock. No burning smell when backing a trailer (3 ATV 7x14 dual axle ~ 3,200lbs) or in low gear crawling.
I have not driven a CF II Jeep but my guess is that the pedal effort is more/stiffer and the engagement point is a bit more aggressive with a Dual Friction setup. I drove mine 5,600 miles from PA to Yellowstone and back and was glad I had a great clutch and flywheel.

I believe you are right on. When I talked to the guys at Centerforce they said the dual friction setup would handle some serious hp and was appropriate for heavy hauling. But if I remember correctly even the Centerforce II was good for in the neighborhood of 500hp. So I opted for the lighter of the two(old knees ya' know). Don't get me wrong, this clutch feels very positive and the pedal pressure is substantial compared to the factory. I'm super happy with it!

Further research indicates this could be the transmission input shaft bearing, so it'll be going to the dealer under warranty.

Thanks for the feedback posted, that's exactly what I was hoping the CF clutches would address.

The CF II or dual friction will be in my future for sure, when I either start having issues with the sticker, or just get tired of it.
