(I thought the bumpers hit the windshield frame).
If you lay the windshield down against the hood, it does rest on those, and there's tie-downs to hold the windshield down against those on the hood.

Gotcha… thanks. I knew the windshield rested on those when you fold it down… just assumed the bumpers would hit the windshield header when you open the hood all the way too… but it’s not like they both pivot on the same hinge, so it makes sense that they move in different arcs. Thanks again for the responses… like I said… new to Jeeps, so learning a lot. Sounds like these “dimples” around the ends of the bumpers are common and not “damage”.

I bought a "new" '22 Sport S a few weeks ago (my first Jeep) that had been a manager's vehicle and had about 3k miles on it. I've noticed that the hood appears to be very slightly dented around both of the forward ends of the rubber windshield bumpers/rests on the hood. You don't really notice them looking across the hood from the outside, but they're fairly obvious when looking out over the hood from behind the wheel. My first thought was that maybe the dealership/manager folded the windshield down on it at some point - maybe to show a customer how it works or whatever - and either dropped it on the hood accidentally instead of lowering it carefully and it dented the hood. I looked closely at the bolt heads in the windshield corner plates that you have to remove to fold the windshield down and I don't see any signs that they've been removed, but I suppose if they were removed carefully enough, I wouldn't.

Anyway... is it possible that my hood damaged - or is this just another "Jeep thing" like the slightly wavy sheet metal on the door near the hinges? I'm not gonna get my panties in a wad regardless, but I'm just curious.
They don't touch unless you unbolt and fold the windshield down. Then the windshield frame rests on them and you tie down to them. I place a towel on the top of my windshield frame when I fold the hood back - I feel like the plastic prop rod clip is going to break the next time I detach the prop rod from it... I'm sure it will eventually get brittle and break, so i fold the hood back against a towel.

I got my 2021 with three miles on it, and the hood was/is warped slightly around the bumpers.
I agree: it's a Jeep thing.

Perhaps torque on the bolts on the underside of the hood during install?

A gust of wind blew mine back when airing up one day and hit both my cowl lights

I see a lot of Jeeps with these snakebites

How do you like the hood? How was fitment. This is my next purchase, especially since I saw someone actually bought it.
I like the fact that the scoop and louvers are functional. The fit was good, but the hood is a lot heavier then the factory aluminum one since it's fiberglass.
I would definitely buy one again.
