That's usually a very different animal, not a battery problem.
Batteries cause non-start or failure of ESS to operate. They don't cause it to say it will shut off.
Replacing batteries is extremely unlikely to fix your different problem.

Not starting != will shut off
It went from saying ESS needs service to the shut off message. Thanks for the reply!

ESS needs service can be a whole lot of things. There are many many things involved with ESS - relays, fuses, sensors, etc.
You'd literally be changing batteries as a guess - and could end up spending money and time only to see the same problem the next day.

Check your battery voltage after a long drive.
Check after the truck has been sitting over-night.
But before doing anything, put a good AGM charger on it and let it charge until it says all 4 phases are complete and it's at 100% charge, 12.7-12.8 volts, see if they hold the charge.
