The Yakima RackandRoll Trailer has served well. Looking at options to carry a couple yaks on an overland camping trailer with a RTT soon. Open to suggestions?

Here's my problem.... I've got a 17' aluminum canoe…..
I finally got my head in the game and figured something out.
Only works topless, but oh well.

It does clear and also allows for freedom top removal.
Hmmmm.
I like my bed topper (Bestop Supertop)...
I like your front hoop.
Make a rear hoop, same rack height, that'll let the tailgate open, and clear the topper, and I'm in for the package!

With the variety of aftermarket bumpers, I'd guess you'd have to go in to the frame where the little rear quarter rock sliders mount...

I'll be waiting patiently.

I hear ya. That's a tall order and we're not quite there yet, but maybe eventually. Accommodating toppers/shells/tonneaus are troublesome, but not unobtainable.

Kayaks in the bed, canoe on the roof.

Kayaks are just a strap in the front to the bed anchors, and one at the back down to the hitch, snug but not tight.
For the canoe I just use 4 foam blocks that clip over the gunwales where it contacts the roof.

Nothing very elaborate by any stretch. I’ll probably get a different kayak setup at some point so they don’t have to go in the bed for longer trips without the camper.

I have 2 - 10' Kayaks that I haul on a regular basis.
I just flip one upside down on top of the other and strap them down in the bed with the tailgate down.

No problems so far.

I will be getting a roof rack with a dual Kayak rack in the future, just so I can carry more camping gear in the bed with the tailgate closed.

I leave mine at the retailer…all the time. Being a bit too top heavy doesn’t jive well with a large tongue depressor with pointed ends.

What is this combo you have? I'm looking for tonneau and rack combo. My Kayak is about 75lbs though so not so sure getting it to this height is what I'm after. I currently have a Mopar trifold soft tonneau that I'd rather not replace yet - any idea if that would work with this rack?

My only option is a trailer with the 18' Hobie Tandem Island kayak. But a trailer is pretty easy for launch and recovery of larger kayaks and something to consider. Plus it leaves the bed free for gear. Before I bought this trailer with sealed hubs, I had a cheap Harbor Freight trailer that I modified and got me down the road for a few years.

I have always had good experience with the Access roll up covers, and have no complaints. I do not have the expectation or need for the cover to be water tight and this set up meet the expectation and my needs.

Very happy with the rack itself and the accessories for it. It is a drill install, and I'm OK with that. I am not sure if this rack is compatible with the Mopar cover, but they do list the covers it is compatible with on the site.

The kayak is almost 100lbs and I have a hell of a time loading it and unloading it. Looks at picking up a couple of the e-z load rollers in the future.
