So im starting to research my next set. I LOVE my 255/75/17 dueler ATs. but they are fading fast. im at 6/32nds after 19,000 miles. I tow a lot so Im not surprised really. The cost per mile (because I got the tires CHEAP) is on par with top brands.

But im kicking around the idea of maybe trying another brand.
Im also looking at maybe going back to an E rated tire for towing, but in the OEM size of 245/75/17. I read on the forums that E rated tires are overkill for the JT, and actually kinda agree. I had a set before that were larger and heavier than the stockers. And when I went back to P rated tires the jeep just felt more at home with the lighter weight. But ive been reading how the E rated tires dont have as much sway while towing due to the stronger side walls. And if this next season is similar to last year Ill be putting 3,000 miles + of towing work on them across all the trips.
The E rated im looing at are Michelin ltx ms. Theyre 44lbs a tire, which is 8lbs heavier than my current tires. My question to you folks is do you think that little bit of unsprung weight will make a measurable difference in the jeeps acceleration.

Im also curious if any one has any experience with Firestone Destination AT2s. Im beating around the idea of them as a replacement for the duelers. They are the same size as current, 255/75, and only 1 lbs heavier per tire. They have a listed treat ware rating a little higher ( 540 vs 400 ) than my duelers, and are only rated at 113 weight instead of the 115 of the duelers. The JT can max tow at a rating of 112 so im not overly concerned with that, but its worth mentioning.

Fuel mileage is always a factor for me. I dont want to drop away from my 22-24 I get now on the highway. So the linked tires are probably the only ones ill be considering since all the research ive done shows them to be the closest analog to my current ones, or have a great efficiency rating.
