I wouldn't trust just one dealer. That one person might be making a mistake on the computer or is misinformed. Get a second opinion.
I do not think it has been discontinued. Supposedly the color recently came back available for the JL recently and suspect the same for the JT.

Beautiful truck. Why do you regret the diesel? Just curious.
Thank you!

1. Mileage is several MPGs off
advertised.
2. Performance is very inconsistent even
with a tune.
3. The price of diesel which amplifies number one. This is my DD/ work/ service vehicle and at the time I ordered it I anticipated significant operational savings over my previous work truck and the advertised MPGs and cost of diesel at the time factored into selecting the diesel.

Frankly I could live with one and three, but I never know what I'm going to get every time I step on the pedal and demand something of this motor and that really sucks.

I’ve heard this from previous people. Never understood why diesel costs more than unleaded. Makes no sense.

It is a combination of ever increasing State and Federal taxes on diesel and the usual supply/demand market constraints.

In my area, the delta between regular unleaded and diesel was 75 cents at most a couple of years ago, now it is almost $2.

Yeah, it does these days......
Like Hootbro said, plus:
low sulfur requirements mean more processes, more expensive processes, more refining,
competition with home heating oil in the winter - same basic stuff as the source,
competition with commercial entities - trains, trucks, industrial complexes..........leads to supply/demand.

Not supporting or justifying it! Just repeating what I've learned over the years.

Jason, really like your wheel and tire setup with the hydro blue. What wheel and tire do you have? Also, do you have a lift or level kit on it?
Thanks.

First and last pic are just factory for the 80th Anniversary Edition.
Second and third pics are:
Vision Se7en Wheels (18x9 +12 spacing)
Falken Wildpeak AT3W (295/70R18)

The Wildpeaks in that size are a 34x11.5, however they are just a touch taller than the 315/70R17 on my daughters JKU.

Only suspension mods are the Teraflex 1.5” leveling kit and the Mopar lower control arms. Drives like a dream.

I've always liked Jeeps in their "fun" bright colors, but the current "fun" color of High Velocity doesn't look as vibrant in real life as it does in promotional materials. However, Hydro Blue actually looked more fun in person than online. It's now a toss up between Sting Gray (I know, the opposite of a bright color, but I dig it) and Hydro Blue.

How well does the Blue hold up to scratches and swirl marks?

Generally dark colors don't fair so well, but this isn't too dark. White shows dirt, black shows dust and swirls/scratches, gray/silver may be better. I know, it will never stay pristine and I like the look of trail dirt, but still considering its daily look and longevity.

Thanks.

I have had my Hydro Blue Gladiator for over a year and a half, and I do have some pin stripping, but not too bad. I did have it ceramic coated as soon as I bought it, and I think that has helped, but I don't know about other users, but the ceramic doesn't seem to hold up very well. Anyway, here is a shot of my Heep...

I have had hydro blue for over two years, 35k miles. I have got some scratches on it and been really surprised how easily most of them have been able to be buffed out using Meguiars ultimate compound. I really don't have any chips in the front either. Seems like pretty decent paint.

Ooh wee wee! Matching bumpers and rack too? Fun color to the max. Not fair to post that, I can't afford that much paint. A beaut though.

Thanks. Chips, pin striping, etc. I don't think can be avoided if I get to offroad as I'd like to. Light scratches/swirls from dirt, washing and daily use and how well those hide is what I'm wondering. All paint will get it, but something like black will loudly advertise it.

I'm unsure about ceramic, may just use a good wash that can be poor man ceramic-like.

Daily use and car washing scratches/swirls, or offroad tree branch scratches? I don't think any paint will avoid the latter, though will be more standout in some colors. But sounds like it's doing well with treatment, and if it's the latter then swirls shouldn't be a problem.

I see people in the forum mentioning the two bucket method for washing. Never heard of it, but I inadvertently do the same for cars/paint I care about. Instead of second bucket though, I just blast the mit with the hose before going back to the bucket. More work and water waste though.

I'm sure I'll baby it the first bit, then see it unavoidable and get lazy like I always do.

Thanks.

I had mine professionally ceramic coated as soon as I bought it. They used a two step process that took 2 days to complete and the top layer is a sacrificial coat that gets replaced every year. After 3 1/2 years still looking good and all the pinstripes do either wipe away or polish out very easily
