Gives you room to stuff a 37 down there. That’s why I removed mine at least ?‍♂

I got rid of mine to fit my 37" spare. I don't think it makes a difference having it or not. I rotate all 5 of my tires regularly and haven't seen any issues from heat.

So other than fitting a larger spare tire. There is zero benefit from removing the shroud that anyone has found.
