I've also been looking hard at the Kanati Armor Hog ATX tires. Heard great things out of them as well from locals running them. They are heavier than the AT-4 but I heard they are better in the mud as well but louder on the road. I have no personal experience with them but rode in a Land cruiser that had a set on it and they didn't seem loud to me. The weight of them is what has prevented me from pulling the trigger on a set. I'm trying to stay under 80lbs a tire on a 37

What was the deciding factor, just curious, I've heard Delium was a good tire but a couple guys local who are running them on Toyota's said they preferred the Kanati in the mud over the Delium. I'm assuming since they aren't a true Hybrid like the Kanati AT-4 they don't do so well at Sipping in the Mud. I've never had a set but have heard they are very similar to the Kanati AT-4 in how it rides on the road.
Honestly I doubt many that make those claims have owned both types of tires... kinda he said, she said I would assume.

They are very close to the A/T-4 and honesty, very close to the Trail Hog as well.

I would consider them hybrid tires, because they have all the same factors of the Kanati that claims to be a hybrid.

Overall, I went with the Delium, because they have been in business since the 50's, where really popular in the offroad community since the 70's and are made in Indonesia... that I know of, Kanati has been around since 2010 and are mostly made in China... (I prefer not to support China).

In all seriousness, either tire will most likely out perform my skills... lol if you do a side by side of the Delium and the two Kanati, they are almost identical, down to the sidewall. Line up the specs of each tire and you won't see any major differences(if I remember, exactly the same).
So it really boils to price, availability and gut feeling. For me at the time, Delium checked my boxes and was available... the China factor for me is enough to take a pass on the Kanati.
So far my experience has been terrific with the Delium, but I have never owned Kanati.

Both I spoke to currently have the Delium on a set of wheels they are running and have the Kanati' AT-4's on a set of wheels in the garage. They are some the guys that clear the trails up at uwharrie so they have multiple sets of tires and wheels they switch between. I'm not on their level but I do respect their opinions though. These guys are well respected in the area and have been bldg rigs for well over 40yrs. More than likely they got the tires for free because they rarely have to pay for them.

That sounds like a great resource for knowledge. I wasn't doubting you... but you know how people hang onto preferences/opinions based on what they "heard" not actually "experienced"... so its great you actually have access to people in the know. I would definitely listen to their opinions, but then make your own conclusions.
Questions like, how much mud time vs. Street time are you going to have ? Are you willing to sacrifice noise for better mud performance ? Are you going to be in ice/snow ? Are you concerned with the mileage you will get out of them... for every major advantage in one area, you are going to have a negative in another.
Maybe pick your local trail clearers brains and ask for specifics, it seems like mud performance is important to you, but remember every mud hole is different, so one might perform better in one hole and not the other.
It seems like you are on the right track, doing your homework and asking questions... I think you will be happy with whatever you decide, because you are making an informed decision. ?

Actually on road performance is the most important thing to me, I'm no get in the mud type of person. I'm just passing along what they told me. I'm more of a fire trail, get to my favorite fishing spot kind of person, so like small creek crossings and rock grip is important. Getting 40,000+ miles and road noise and doing well in the rain mostly, that's important as well, but it don't hurt to have them do well in other spots, just in case.

I am currently running these and IMO they are a great tire!! Wear really well, and honestly very little road noise, ive got probably 30K on them and not a noticeable amount of wear!!

I read that Kanati's were made in Indonesia. I, too, do not wish to support the Chi-Coms.

Greenball is the company that makes them and they made in Indonesia based on a Google search. I'll chat online with them tomorrow to confirm.

How many miles can I expect to get out of them with regular rotation? Is 40,000 about it? I've read where one guy got 70,000 (though I don't expect to get anywhere near that). Beautiful rig, BTW.
I have +77000 on 33" LT 285/70R 17C Wildpeak Falcon MT's.
This week they measured 3/32 tread during my usual 4 tire rotation (I have them rotated at every oil change). They are good with a 75% Hi-way 50 mile round trip commute. Off roading 3-4 times a year in mud and sand. I get +/-20.5 mpg (JTR-gasoline). Considering Mickey Thompson BAJA Boss AT's maybe 35" or 37" but not sure I want to lower my mpg.

Are you saying you have 77,000 miles on a set of M/T's? I mean that's a pretty bold statement considering only a few companies that make M/TS offer a 40,000 mile warranty and Fallen isn't one of them. I know Pro Comp and maxis offer a 40,000 mile warranty. I'd imagine if anyone could get 50,000 miles out of a 4 tire rotation then they would offer a warranty, just sayin. That's seem like a lot of miles for a M/T and honestly you would be the only person I ever heard make a claim like that.

I know you say you got that many miles on the Jeep but that many miles on a set of tires,. especially M/T's. You would be lucky to get mileage like that out of A/T tire. M/T tires wear out much faster if daily driven on the road. If you were to say you towed it to the trails maybe but 77,000, you might want to contact Guiness on that one because you probably have a world record there by a long shot.
