Yeah I remember that now. How's your new e-suspension? Ill DM you if you ever wanna wheel sometime.
I've got the suspension dialed in pretty nice!

We get out sometimes for a local trail....

Bobs put on all 5 tires, which required them having my Jeep for pretty much the whole day. We had to take off the rock rails to be able to turn and there's still rubbing on sharp turns. It'll do for getting around this week but it's not a lot of fun.

I have the most aggresive stage 1 tune that nets +50WHP and +80 WTQ. It was too aggressive - in that the amount of throttle distance between going 1 foot forward and accelerating while going 3 feet forward was basically zero. It wasn't too much torque but the delivery felt too peaky. The big tires have tamed that now

Alex is taking off the rock rails here:

I have more than enough low end for drivability and just enough in the mid rpm range. I'd say it for sure is better than stock. Stock tune expierence for me was terrible due to the huge amount of pedal lag and a lazy transmission. I definitely would not regear but if I did Id also add SOTF maps so I could switch to a less aggressive tune.

Any invites from the squated truck community will be rejected. Thankfully my manhood remains fully and permanently intact with no signs of shrinkage.

Tires out here getting blessed by my friends 4 year old. No Teslas in her future, if we do this right, she'll be in a sports car or 4x4.

For reasons I dont fully understand I want to have a really nice cooler.

Jeep Gladiator Diesel Desert and Trail Build OY-Front-Above-1st-Edition

An electric cooler would be nice because I hate when water gets in everything. The thing is I don't want more electronics when I'm camping. I want to enjoy the simple life when I get away for a couple of days.

Enter the Oyster, it releases this month and fits my desires almost completely. It's vacuum technology like a coffee mug so it has thin walls but ridiculously good thermal insulation. Inside the aluminum liner has great thermal conductivity so you only need ice packs or a little ice at the bottom.

My system for camping:
Daypack
Backpack
Gallons of Water
Kitchen inside a Action Packer 24
Customized Weber Smokey Joe in a "mess-proof" case
Charcoal in a fuel bag
Oyster Cooler

[Note to self: Insert picture when ready]

Nice part is everything modular.

Some pics Phil from Liberty Mountain Fab took. He has video of him ripping it but I can't upload it here for some reason.

Initial impressions, I'm impressed with the look, ride and capability. He said the brake chop, acceleration chop is gone. I don't know what that means but it handles better. The 37s are still a bit of a handful on the freeway

I'll upload some more pics and leave a review once I have more expierence.

Pictures don't really capture how cool it looks though. The stance is just mean. The black and yellow ADS stickers really pop and the shiny tubes also add some functional bling. You can see the air bump through the coils here.

Here's a link to YouTube video Phil filmed:

He said he could do 70-80 through that section if the tires were aired down and he wasn't holding his phone.

Here's the Amazon shopping list. PITAKA makes a magsafe android case. I ordered the wrong one is why it says return started. I tried the glue on the phone magsafe rings but I couldn't get it to work properly. I have the PITAKA case now and it works like a dream. The Phone sits high when mounted though it almost is too high. I might email 67 deisgns and ask for advice on what to buy to lower it more.

I love it though. I never want to go back to cables.

Have you had a chance to try out that cooler? If so, how many days in 80* temps do you think things will stay cold?

Also, what do you think of your shock/spring setup, if you have had more time on it?

On the street I'd say it's nothing special but like 100% better than stock. I can speed through dips and speedbumps with no problem and the big tires help me take corners pretty fast. Off-road at the right speeds the ride is amazing though, pretty much feels like you are on the water in a boat. He's a great guy and even if he doesn't do your whole build I would at least get my shocks tuned from him.

I thought it would do a lot better than it did. I usually go out for 3 days and 2 nights when I camp at the coast. It was basically room temp once I got home and it was cooler than 80. It uses 2 cold packs at the bottom; I'm betting/hoping if it had 4 down there it could do 3-4 days. It does look really sleek and I love that it fits on the back seat (the single-side down, with bench-side folded up) with the seat belt on it to secure it. Even with 4 packs, it will still hold a lot of stuff for its size and it does cool all the way to the top. The main con is it's not that rugged, it will dent, so I take a little extra care of it and treat it nice. The lid also fell apart but they said they sent me one from a defective batch and are mailing me one to replace it.

They are simply amazing when going fast off-road. They have about 6 inches up and down travel and make quick work of shitty roads. Like all bypass shocks, they suck at attenuating low-frequency oscillations though. I don't really want to spend money on a dual shock set-up, its good enough for me. They do make a lot of noise and most people probably think something is broken in my jeep.

Looks like we both had a similar concept when building our Jeeps.

The trails I run around here are not as wide open and rock strewn which has afforded me the option of adjustable shocks. My trail runner is also my daily work truck so I appreciate the highway manners I can dial in.

It would be interesting to compare those fancy triple bypasses with a spin though. Hit me up if your jeep ever wants to go visit Mickey's East Coast pad!

I probably will never encounter the wide open trail as in anything over 20-30 mph. I just like cruising. So I have no need for triple bypass shocks or even any sort of bypass. As far as the cooler goes. I've got an iceco VL60D which is fantastic. Plugged into my trucks inverter when I did use it. Precooled it moved it to the truck. Kept everything frozen on one side and cooled on the other side. For an entire weekend with just a few driving miles per day to run it. It was kind of a test run. But it works great.
