Well i was hoping that my jeep would be done last friday, like the dealer said. But as of today, they have still not finished the repairs. They said that they only have 1 diesel tech and they are pulling that tech off to work on other jeeps. They have had the parts now for over 2 weeks and said that it MAYBE done mid-end of this week.

I have a case open with @JeepCares and requested to speak with a senior case manager and corporate contact, since this is becoming ridiculous.
Not siding with the dealer, but if they had other prior commitments ahead of yours, they should just state that and not give you a completion time that won't happen. If they had other diesels in the shop ahead of yours, they should have just told you 3, 4 or 5 weeks....whatever the writer "Knows" it could be done by. If they called you at 2.5 weeks, they look like a hero.

I've built my business on the principal of "Under promise and over deliver". The way I see it in my head is that it's not my fault that the client's vehicle broke down. I give them a time I know I can meet and almost always beat that time. If they don't like the time line, they can move on......

I understand that, but the service rep assigned to my repair can't even tell me what parts are being replaced, what parts have been installed and what parts still need to be installed. Their excuse is because they can't see anything until the report is completed when the job is finished. Wouldn't you keep track at the end of the day what has been completed on each vehicle that is being worked on in their service shop so that you or another tech would know what needs to be finished the following day. Additionally, why would you start a repair if you have "other prior commitments" and then stop what you partially started and move onto another project and leave that project partially disassembled that has been sitting in their service bay since Dec. 31, 2022?

IDK why they can't tell you anything because I don't work at a dealer using their software. I can tell you I have serious anxiety knowing I have to take my truck in for the Y81 recall and a leaking back window from what I read on the forums on dealer relations.

You start because the tech isn't committed on that particular day? Then you have to wait around for corporate approval, waiting on parts, then when the other scheduled job that was scheduled prior to your truck coming in broke down, they move to that one? But there is yet another job scheduled right after the other (Remember all of this prior to your truck breaking down and getting towed in) Then enter the complication when that other job that was scheduled prior to yours gets much larger than anticipated. Who gets priority? The guy that was schedule before you or you? They only have 8 man hours a day to work with if they only have one tech. Fine line between that tech having nothing to do and having double what can be done. Would you prefer getting to the back of the line in 2 months so they can schedule an entire day or 3 just for you?

I work alone and figured out my balance was to raise the labor rate slightly and only schedule 4-5 hours of work for Mon, Tuesday, Thursday. This way I can clean up Mon/Tues's mess on Wed, Thurs's mess on Friday and get the weekend off. Sometimes I have a light week becuse those jobs went too smooth and sometimes I still have to work on the weekend to make up for the shitshow.

This isn't as simple as Burger King where you get in line, wait your turn, and your burger comes out the drivethru window within 5 mins as planned......Just read an article recently where a HUGE order was accepted at a McDonalds in the wee early morning hours and people who arrived after the huge order were pissed that they had to be turned away?

Well finally got my gladiator back. But of course they forgot to put the engine cover back on it, so now have to go back tomorrow to get it put on. For anyone curious here is the write up with the part numbers

I think I took a picture of the price breakdown when they did mine. Wasn't supposed to. But hey WTF why not. Have to try and find that.

Well that lasted less than 24 hours. Picked it up on Friday evening and went to drive to the store Saturday morning and when I get back home it was pissing diesel all over the engine and my driveway.... had it towed back to the dealer and they are supposed to get a new tech on it first thing Monday morning according to the service manager. Plus their "master master tech" forgot to put the engine cover back after they approved that the work was completed and ready to be released.

Hopefully jeep approves my request to extend my warranty since they replaced the fuel pump with the same CP4 pump and the dealer screwed up.

Picked up my gladiator again this afternoon. Tech found that one of the fuel injectors was leaking at the base and faulty from the supplier. They ended up replacing the leaky injector and tested drove it several times and no leaks. Fingers crossed that is the last of it. Got 37s arriving tomorrow that I'm looking forward to installing!

Jeep only offered to extend the years that the factory warranty cover and not the mileage. So instead of the 5 year 100K mile warranty it would be 7 year 100k mile warranty. Which i am already at 22.5K miles within less than 1 year of owning my jeep. So i will easily pass the 100K miles in 5 years and only a mile increase on the warranty would be beneficial.

And even if i took the extended year warranty, they would not reimburse me the $3.5k worth of rentals i had to do while my jeep was in the shop.

Woof that blows. Would really leave a sour taste in my mouth. Another reason to have a 3rd vehicle.

Additive in my JL and JT diesels from the first tank until present tank. I use Amsoil.
Question for those who know: My 2020 JL is under recall and my 2022 JT is not. What is different about the pumps? Also, what is going to be different in the replacement pump? I am hesitant to change the pump on my 2020 JL until I know what the upgrade is. Dealer can't even get an oil change right.
Please let me know what additive you use , I have a 22 Gladiator with a 3.0. I live where it gets in the single digits. I also had the manufacturer add the block heater. I received my recall letter first week of June. I can't get parts for this thing. It ate a axle speed sensor. FCA Can't supply either the speed sensor or the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP). I WANT MY MONEY BACK. This is ridiculous. Got mid 60s cash into this thing. Wish I wouldn't have paid cash!
