I own a 2023 Gladiator with the eco diesel motor in it. It has 26 thousand easy miles on it. For the last few months, I have been getting a CEL for the cam position sensor. The CEL would come on, stay on for a few start cycles and then turn off. Just before taking the vehicle to the dealership for diagnosis, the motor threw a CEL for the electronic stability control system and went into limp mode when I was on the freeway. At that moment, I felt the strangest high frequency vibration in my feet, which lasted about 15 seconds before it disappeared, never to return. I took the vehicle to the dealership for repair. During the visit, I also asked to have the rear window repaired as it was leaking in several places. 2 weeks have passed and the dealership has done a great job of regularly updating me on what has been going on with the repairs. So far, they have replaced the rear window, replaced both the auxiliary and main battery, replaced the fuse plate, replaced the EGR cooler, and the turbo. The tech still can't get the codes to clear and they are opening a STAR case with Stellantis.
P026D: Fuel Injection Quantity
P0299: Turbocharger- low boost
P049B: Exhaust Gas Recirculation -low boost
Question:
Have any of you eco diesel owners experienced the same problem? What does it mean when a STAR case has been opened? If this rises to the level of an engine replacement, is the new engine remanufactured or is it a new crate motor that has 0 miles on it. How is my warranty affected? Should I just Lemon Law the vehicle and get my money back? What other questions should I be asking the dealership?
Thanks for your help and insight.......
