Well my thump / clunk after breaking was definitely the suspension “Stiction” from the failing leaking Fox shock. I did clean the rotors and calipers while I was in there
Mine has new shocks in all 4 corners. Maybe I need to recheck their torque.

Heck, based on posts in these forums over the last 3 years, it's not a waste of time to check the torque on all steering and suspension components. Especially if you've been off the beaten path much at all.
And while at it, once satisfied that all is well, use a paint pen or similar to mark fasteners so you can tell at a glance if anything has turned or moved.

Nope. Thump is still there, checked all control arms and suspension, has to be driveline issue.

Well definitely check caliper mounting bolts, I thought mine were tight, torqued them again really good and thump has officially been dispersed. Thanks @ShadowsPapa for the recommendation earlier in this thread

Are there any grease zirks on the JT anywhere or around the slip yoke on the drive shaft? Any of you get a thump feel in the back end when you come to a stop, kinda like a soft rear end tap coming to a stop? I had that issue with my last vehicle being the 17 Tacoma and it was a drive shaft issue.
I know this is a really old thread, but any update on any of this? I am having the same thump. It won’t do the thump if I put the trans in neutral before coming to a stop.

Well, after blowing the dust off this one, let me try to remember it and recall what’s happened since…🧐

I’m on second engine and fourth transmission and fourth power steering pump… I’d say the problem was with the first factory transmission. After that was replaced, the “thump” episodes stopped.

Local meteorologists were just talking about a huge dust cloud coming in from the Alberta area...... now I understand.

The hood is still original though, right?

Ummmmm….actually,..now you asked,… since the paint corrosion was warrantied and fixed on the hood and 4 doors back in March, the corrosion started again on the hood and I was informed by the dealership today that they feel it would be best to order a new hood 😑. So ….

Keep this up. Your JT will never get old. Steady supply of new parts.

Saw this pop up again, so thought I'd check if "Greasy Nipples" were being discussed again.

I see they're not, carry on.
