Today I was able to snag a Badlands Apex 1200s for 25% off. I have the steel Mopar bumper on my Rubi. Has anyone been successful installing without having to bob the control lever? Is there a winch plate/spacer option to make this happen.

You would need to raise the winch up quite a bit to clear.
I've had 2 different winch plates, and it wouldn't quite clear with either.
The latter plate - the Bulldog, set the winch down just a bit farther so I had to take a bit more notch out.
Really simple on my band saw. Took time but it cut it.

Raising the winch may clear the bumper, but not the bar -

And with the plate supplied with my knock-off bumper -

Yes I have seen your pics in other posts and that Bulldog winch plate you have is definitely a contender. Was just throwing this out to see other options. My bar actually sits a little further out.

Yeah, I like that bar a lot better than mine...... some day I'll get a better one. Really like the looks of yours. (color combo, too)

I was thinking the Bulldog winch plate and the Rugged Ridge spacers would get me there. Would be nice...

Thank You sir. It was a cheapie off Amazon I think 80 bucks. It started rusting the first week I had it, it had a very thin coat of powdercoat. I took it to my local coater and asked him to try and get it close in color to my wheels. Very happy with the outcome. Total price was less than the Mopar guard.

I used the Rugged Ridge spacers and it clears the Mopar steel bumper without issue. Spacers come with longer bolts too so that was nice. I used the ATP winch plate, so can’t say about Bulldog. I also don’t have a bar but from the looks of I think yours is set far enough back it would clear.

Nice job Skadax, the control box relocate with that plate sure looks nice, makes the spacers more attractive without a winch blocking airflow....Jack

Would it not be possible to trim the bumper where the lever is contacting. Could do both sides so it looks balanced to the eye. My highly professional example ?

Thank you, I really love how clean your install is. Where did you get your spacers from?

Thanks. I’m a big fan of how this turned out with the clean look. I’m now trying to clean up the internals where I relocated the control box and have it wired up with a solenoid that can be activated by the Aux switches.

I bought the spacers on Amazon but it doesn’t look like they are available there any longer. Looks like extremeterrain has them in stock.

I am set to receive my Bulldog winch plate on Tuesday. Monday I'll prep for the installed by removal the bumper and clean up all the schmutz.
The fairlead is at my coater getting bronzified. Maybe the front cover plate will also go in to it powder coated Firecracker red to stay with the theme of my build.. Pretty excited for the mod.
