2021 Willys - fully stock w/ 275/70/17

So I literally just got a 1.5" Leveling kit in the mail yesterday with the plan to install it this week. My son and I went to Jeeps @ the Beach and I won a TeraFlex 2.5 Coil Spring and Spacer Base Suspension Lift Kit (1364000).

My plan was to only do the leveling kit and eventually get 35s when my current tires wear down, but now I have a dillema. I wanted to keep this cheap.

When I put on the 2.5" kit what else do I need to buy?
Can I keep my stock shocks?
Can I keep the leveling kit on with the 2.5 lift? I would assume no.

Thanks for any help, I had no intention of lifting this but free is free and now I'm looking forward to putting in the work.

Yea, the more I look at it, I am going to return the leveling kit and use the money from that to get a get a track bar relocation bracket and install the 2.5" kit.

It looks like I should be able to keep the stock shocks.

I believe this is 2.5" in the front and 3/4" in the rear to level out the rake.

Stick with the leveling kit if you really aren’t sure what you’re doing. Otherwise, it will be more money and more time spent at the mechanic/dealer.

Sell the 2.5 kit and put it towards new tires/wheels.

Eventually, when you do consider a bigger lift kit, get a complete one with control arms, shocks, etc.

Just my .02 cents.

I hate that I may be leaning that way, but 1.5" on a Willy's is enough to fit 35s and I may just go that route, but I want to make sure I know everything that's needed. At this point it looks like I can do it all for a few hundred bucks, so I'm torn.

Only thing I and some others would recommend with the 1.5 is Mopar lift LCA’s ($70ish total for both). Stock shocks will work just fine. Nothing else to it! Ez Pz

that was my thought. Sell the 2.5” and use the money for other upgrades with the 1.5”

Six to one, half-dozen the other.
It's as much aggravation to put in pucks as springs.

OP- There's parameters to the moving parts within the suspension. Whatever you add may or may not move the other parts outside those working parameters.
For instance: you add 1.5" spacers to the front suspension. Maybe you've moved the caster angle, sway bar angle, shock down-travel, outside of their parameters or maybe you haven't. It's simple geometry (not necessarily the high school math type) that if you understand how the few different parts work, you'll know what needs to be installed to compensate for those changes.

You add the spacers. Does your front end wander or feel loose going down the highway? If so you need more caster angle so add longer or adjustable control arms.

Is your front sway bar angled down towards the back? You should probably get longer sway bar links too bring it level or a slightly upwards angle.
When you unbolt your shocks from the lower bracket, how far down do they extend? 3-4" or less? Consider longer shocks or maybe relocation brackets. 4" or more? You're good to go out of the box.
Does your driver side tire stick out past the fender more than your passenger side tire? An adjustable track bar will fix that problem. Maybe it's a half inch difference? If you can live with that, so can your Jeep.

This is how it all works. As you go up in lift heights it gets a little more complex but not much. Simple problems requiring simple solutions.

Good luck.

I just ordered this spring and spacer kit with mopar lca’s, adjustable track bar, and Bilstein shocks. Haven’t seen many reviews on it, but figured similar setup worked well on my old JK so should be ok.

Ask Teraflex if they would credit you the cost of the kit you won toward a more complete kit they sell.

My parts start to arrive tomorrow. Not sure if OP made a decision yet, but I should be able to complete install within the next few weeks.
