I've done the searches and only come up with a couple spots where mattresses were mentioned.
Going to be heading to a show/swap meet/races in a couple of weeks. Will be using the truck tent again but want something better for a mattress - at least as wide as the space between wheel wells, and at least as long as the bed if not a bit longer. It's a Rightline tent so something that actually goes to the very end of the tailgate may not work....

What are the possibilities and what are others using with this same tent setup?
I'm tired of rolling over and sliding off the edge of the thing Coleman I have now. It's ok but not wide enough IMO.

Bill there is a few designed that fit full bed. I don't remember what company's carry them offhand. I think that Amazon had put one on as a recommendation to me in past. This is one I just pulled up with quick search.

I'm done with air up mattresses, I've gone thru to many. I use a tri-fold foam mattress.
Here is a vid of how I did it before I started pulling a trailer.

Maybe you can find one you like to fit the bed of your truck on Amazon.
Much better than an air-up in my opinion.

Two of these side-by-side:
Therm-a-rest BaseCamp™ Sleeping Pad
They self inflate and also insulate from below. Two of the 20" wide models would probably fit next to each other. Don't add extra air or they become too hard. They self inflate just about the right amount. Easy to deflate and roll up.

Bonus points if you also have a Bed Rug. In fact, you could buy a Bed Rug floor and only put it in for trips and take it out otherwise. Or a big sheet of closed cell foam. Something to make it easier to kneel on it.

For my own truck I have a carpet insulated cap as well, and can sleep diagonally under the cap without putting the tail gate down. Taller folks would not be able to do that, though.

If you want to go fancy, something like the Project M cap.

That foam mattress doesn't get too hot?

I use a short (Height) Cot with a 2" Memory Foam 28" wide mattress/Bedroll from Amazon. Plenty of Room to sit up inside the Rightline Tent and store stash under the cot, plus have room for stuff on the other side of the the truck bed, like PowerStation and Cpap setup. No build setup, with a BedRug.

Edit for photo.

I've also used the Airbedz for a few trips and have been pretty happy with it.

How do those airbedz work with the rightline tents?
They are pretty deep and with the added block fill the whole tailgate, seems like would be a tight fit at the end of a rightline tent.

Rightline makes one that seems to fit between the wells is not as deep and has less length at the tailgate area to work with their tents.

I have been happy with my cheepo full size mattress.
Its just a touch wide at the wheel wells, but it contours around them in practical use and goes almost to the end of the tailgate.
We do not roll off it.

I think it might work with the rightline tent slope at the end of the tailgate.

Rubber mat bed liner (smart liner) and 2 sheets of 2' wide by 2" thick yellow furniture foam sold at home depot. laid side by side. Works well and is comfortable. Sleeping bag laid on top.

For transport either roll em up, or arch them. I arch them against the ceiling of my cap and the bed rails. Lets me pack stuff under them.

Only looking for air mattress as it's hot and humid down by the river and space is a huge consideration. Everything has to fit in the truck (the back may be full of car parts LOL)
Seriously, need to consider storage in the truck and then at home. Don't have space for anything large and foam would be a cumbersome thing dragging in and out of the house, and trying to find space in the cab of the truck.

How do those airbedz work with the rightline tents?

The bed of the truck is 44" between wheel wells - ideal to fill that space, and maybe 72" long?
My cheap Coleman is 73" x 38" and an extra 6" might keep me from rolling off. Side sleeper who goes back and forth multiple times in the night and I always end up with the current one being too narrow, struggle to stay on it.

When I look up Rightline mattress on Amazon, it doesn't give accurate measurements - one review said it was 40", the dimensions say 51 with is too wide for between the wheels.

I'd thought about something that went around the wheel wells and filled the floor of the truck bed but then that would block the charging ports I have back there not to mention dig into the tie-down loops in the bed of the truck so 44" would be better.

The big Airbedz thing -MAYBE too long with the extension with the Rightline tent (my current cheapie is 72", I'd hang off the end without the extension and i'm only 5'8")
It looks great, like the fact that it's a full bed mattress.
The other consideration is the fact I have ports in the bed of the truck to recharge phone and hearing aids while I sleep.......... if I could still plug into those while the mattress is in the back - might work. Need to maintain access to these -

Trying to sort this out, do 3 weeks worth of work on a car in less than 2 weeks to take it to the show this year, plus dealing with my wife heading to Canada and my needing to take her and her friend to the airport - at 3 am on a Sunday morning............

Would it allow access to my charging ports in the truck -picture in post above - is there enough space to squeeze cables down the side to plug into the 12v and USB ports??

Would it work with my Rightline tent - which is really sloped on the tailgate - it's not a large tent.
