I invested in:
Whole point is to slow thieves down or get them to pass it by to find an easier mark. Understand that if someone really wants to steal it, and given enough time, they will!
Only issue with the last point is you're also going to attract law enforcement attention with that. By federal law, it has to be visible. If they spot it parked somewhere public, they can tow it until they confirm it's not stolen. Low risk, but not zero risk.

Sure the thief might spoof your fob and get your Glad to start remotely. But unless the Start/Stop button works, the thief can't get it in gear to drive away.

Great point! I had not thought of that. I was hoping the VIN was on the dash and I could use the "left my junk mail" on the dash excuse, but seeing it is on the pillar makes me have to be more deliberate. After your post, I did a few more searches and it appears in some places deliberately covering up the VIN could be illegal and could get your car towed! Thanks for the heads up.

And then there is this sticker displayed in my back window. In my neighborhood, I think that is the end of 95% of the interest on my Jeep. Why start it if you cannot drive it?

All these stickers use Millennial. Maybe it's true to Gen Z at best. I learned to drive stick when I was 6 in a first gen S-10. ?

“”””Ravelco””” is three kill switches in one. Three different circuits that are disconnected and hard for anyone to find. No criminal wants to mess with that hard of a challenge. According to them, no one has stolen any of their equipped vehicles in about 25 or so years. We have it installed them in three of our vehicles. We sleep very very well at night.
Tried to get them to install on my truck. 3 attempts, terrible customer service. Would not trust them.

That was from the office, they did not want to come to San Diego to do the install. Had an appointment, they canceled because the other person canceled. Rescheduled they did the Something again. Then they wanted to charge me. Not a good company.

Boomer humor. Most millennials were still stuck with manual cars in high school. I've only met one millennial that didn't know how to row gears.

My old dodge neon I had rigged up, not that anyone would've wanted to steal it. The key cylinder was unplugged and the wiring for it was complete gutted from the steering collumn, the power/accessories was rewired through the factory fog light switch and the ignition/key was rewired to use the cigarette lighter as a momentary switch. It was a pretty damn ridiculous idea that came from sheer boredom one day.

If you pressed random things you might figure it out eventually, but the few friends I made bets with couldn't figure it out. (I kept the cigarette lighter in my pocket ;) )

I use, and would suggest a Steering wheel lock device, and a Faraday box or Faraday pouch. The steering wheel device would be a deterrent just at the sight of it, or it would slow someone down. The Faraday box or pouch actually blocks RF signals, put the Jeep keys in here for safe keeping.

The steering wheel lock , atleast back in the day of the "club", had the opposite effect, it attracted thieves. Any serious thief will just cut the steering wheel in under 60 seconds. I also use a faraday pouch to help stop fob cloning... but for serious thieves, the kind that will have your vehicle in under a minute and inside a connex box being loaded on the next freighter to Nigeria in under 12 hours... requires more serious anti-theft devices like Ravelco or similar... these devices have several threads discussing them.
