65 no warning at all. this stretch of hwy is new and very smooth. just imagine blowing a front tire and no control of steering. it happens that fast. It certainly looks like a death wobble type situation.

So rather than violently shaking, you're experiencing a loss of steering and it feels like the front is washing out? I'll be honest, this doesn't sound like death wobble at all.

Yeah, DW is violent side to side shaking of tires and steering wheel. Back and forth, a wobble you can't stop without slowing way down or stopping, steering wheel violently goes left right left right.......
To me a flat is a sudden hard pull to one side with little to no wobble back and forth.

ReplyIt's stock for sure. i did check a lot of the bolts underneath and nothing jumps out at me that is loose.
Food for thought. Just because it looks stock doesn’t mean it always was. It was sold to Carmax with 15k on it. Previous owner could have lifted but wanted to change trims and pulled the aftermarket back off of this one while half assed reinstalling the stock equipment or worse used questionable stock equipment he got off of marketplace so he could sell his lift.

2 week old jeep and i'm on my way to work this morning and all of sudden the jeep starts acting like a front tire blew out. steering wheel shaking back and forth.
I pull over and nothing is wrong with the tires. Trying to get it looked at somewhere, but anything come to mind ?
After turning the jeep off i was able to get to work and return home without any further issues.
Mine just starting doing that. Only at highway speeds and if I hit a pretty good expansion joint or pot hole. More of a shaking, not the death wobble I've heard about. 21k miles, all stock.
Taking it to the dealer this week.

I also have an appt with Carmax this Monday. I would love to hear your dealers response to your issue.

Ok, well i wasted 2 trips to Colorado Springs taking the jeep to Carmax to look at with minimal expectations.
I was correct as they quickly punted to a Jeep dealer to look at.
That's ok with me.
I spoke to my local guys here and I feel comfortable they will find the issue.
Lucky i didn't cancel the appt i made 3 weeks ago as i take it there next Thurs.
Stay tuned.
I have had 4 DW under different circumstances since i started this thread.

Just one last update after getting back from my Jeep dealer. They found a dead spot in the steering stabilizer and replaced it. Did an alignment and wheel balance and i am good to go.
They mentioned an upgraded stabilizer from a company called Fox if it happens again.
Anyone use these?
thanks all.
