To wave or not to wave...

Do you wave at every Jeep you pass...
Do only return the wave if you get a wave ?
If you do wave, how often do you get a wave back ?
Or
Do you not offer a wave or reciprocate a wave at all ?
Have you gotten lazy and placed a Jeep wave decal on you mirror and called it a day ?

Whats your wave etiquette ?

I have found that the willingness to wave is directly proportionate to the number of ducks on the dashboard. This is not always the case but more so than not. You see 20 ducks, you're getting a Forest Gump, Captain Dan wave.

I wave to them all. The only time I don't wave is on a 4 lane highway.

No waves for me in the city. In the countryside and the trail I’ll wave even if you’re on a pedal bike.

I wave most of the time. It is for me. If they don't want to reciprocate, that's on them.

The only ones I refuse to wave is those in the turn lane without using their blinker. You can't use a turn signal, you are dead to me.

I agree with the first paragraph but not so much the second. See when I was learning to drive the turnsignal was to show you are making a change in your intended direction. I use it all the time switching lanes or indicating that I'm turning right or left off a main road, I would be changing direction from what is expected, heading straight ahead.

If I'm in a turning only lane I indicate about three blinks as I enter the lane and that's it. I'm now in a turning lane and I'm going to turn, no need to let anyone know from that point on.

That’s an interesting take on it.

Add on Question~ Do you wave to anything non-Wrangler/Gladiator?

IF it's modified, I wave to it. I think anybody that's put the effort in to modify an XJ, MJ or Grand deserve a wave. Even a bad-ass AND non-douchey Taco will get the occasional wave...

Are you afraid of running out of blinker fluid? ;)

I haven't seen any on the shelves since the supply shortages from covid. I ration it as best I can. Don't want to end up like the diesel guys when their fuel pump quits, but with me eventually running out of blinker fluid I feel I won't be able to drive it anymore.

I find myself doing that occasionally as well but they get a thumbs up instead of a jeep wave.

I used to get the 2-finger wave all the time in my JKU. Now in the JT, it's rare. Kind of a relief from having to readjust my hand on the steering wheel just to wave actually, LOL

No shade, I personally would love a diesel but this forum and Stellantis has scared me away from them with the possibility of driving a ticking time bomb.
