It's a shame Mercedes dropped the 4x4 on the sprinter.
You can get AWD Sprinters still. Plus the Revel is 4x4. I don't know if it's true 4x4 or just another AWD.

I just spec'd an AWD van online from MB and it came in at $80k (base is $65k) before the #vanlyfe interior addition.

But yes, the perception is that it's mostly 2WD options.

I want the Nissan van. A local dealer has an off-road build sales program of them. In a few years they'll disappear unless Nissan brings it back.

It'll be likely we'll settle for a Sprinter-style #vanlyfe rig.
Im looking at gsa sales around me to possibly pick up a used one. The 2500s / 3500s can pull 8k-10k and have a payload of 2,500lbs - 3,000lbs!

AWD isn't the same as the hi/low 4x4 they used to offer. I bet Revel won't be 4x4 anymore unless they are swapping out the AWD drivetrains.

The NV3500 w/ v8 has 375hp and ~350tq as well. I like them because they're not the Sprinter/Transit style. I hate that short slope nose look.

Well the Dakota killed off the Comanche in 91-92
Comanche sales kind of fell in the toilet by 91-92. Conspiracist want to believe Chrysler was afraid of the Comanche poaching sales from the Dakota but the Comanche sales were faltering on their own. By 1990, Jeep dealers themselves were asking it to be discontinued and be given a version of the Dodge Dakota to replace it.

I'm a RAM guy and really like my 2019 RAM 1500 4X4 5.7 Hemi, it's great truck and have had zero problems with it. I've been looking at the Gladiator as a replacement vehicle for it, but just can't pull the trigger on one, this is probably because of the only available engine is the V6 and I feel it's under powered. Now if the Dakota comes on line and it is not powered with and engine that will do better then say the V6, or a turbo charged 2.0 engine it will probably be out for me. Both Jeep, Gladiator, Dakota, need a boost in power and the new Hurricane motor is what I would like to see put into these vehicles and would defiantly put it on top of the truck vehicle market. Plus not price it so high like the 392 engine that makes it out of most buyers price range, somewhere around $3000/$4000 more for this engine. Just like the RAM, the 5.7 Hemi is around $5000 more for this engine over the V6 standard engine, well worth the price. And as far as EV's go, I wouldn't buy one at any price, or so called going Green to save the planet, I don't buy into that sales pitch, or government mandates.

Is it that much more for a V8 Ram?

It was $1,000 for the 5.0L V8 option on my 2020 F150.

Well my Comanche would have been a 92 if I had not ordered it as a 91 the 1992s was in production when I ordered mine. Jeep had said the Comanche was done as of 1991, there was only 952 made in 1992. Probably leftovers, quite a few of them were sold to GSA, the same color as mine.
On the discontinue of the MJ, it was told in a few of the off-road rags that the reason why it was discontinued was the Dakota in interviews from upper Chrysler management. I don't doubt low sales being a big part of it. Running 2 compact/ midsized truck lines that didn't use any parts from other line wasn't practical for a company still recovering from bankruptcy.
The Comanche was a niche vehicle (the same as the Gladiator is now). But in same class as Ford Ranger, Chevy S10, ect. but oddly enough higher load rating and more power than others. ?

I wonder if Jeep is keeping an eye on this thread here too. ?
