Added Trail Cam with Garmin Tread and 813 Fabrication Dead Pedal

I added a forward-facing camera using a Garmin Tread (5.5" version), Garmin BC50, and an 813 Fabrication dead pedal with the on / off switch. It is very useful so I thought I'd share for those looking for a way to add a trail cam. I fabricated my own mount for the camera...and I use "fabricated" loosely since it is a pretty crude mount, but it gets the job done and is not visible unless the hood is open.

Sure beats the quality of pairing any aftermarket camera with the stock radio. Thanks for sharing. I was never aware the Garmin had the capability of a camera hook up. Is it possible to hook up more cameras through the Garmin?

Edit: I just looked up the bc50 and it's a single camera kit. Cool idea though and maybe another option for me in the future as I hate the quality of my aftermarket camera with my stock radio.

The Tread will connect to up to four cameras.

How do like the Tread? Been eyeing the base edition for a while. Adding the camera seems like a bonus.

I like it a lot for several reasons, including being able to route when outside of cell coverage, being able to download satellite maps, record my tracks and manage them through the Garmin Tread and Garmin Explore apps, and connecting and communicating with other Jeeps in my group with the Group Ride Radio.

I went with this one for mine and used an 8” iPad I had for the monitor with a Rubigrid mount.

How is the Garmin for off road trails. I am thinking about it for a forward camera also. Then I would have factory nav and Trail cam with the Garmin Tread .

I did almost the exact same thing, except I just have the front camera playing on the dash camera screen or my iPhone. What I wish was possible is to play it through CarPlay somehow right on the radio screen!
