I decided to change out the oil pan to a Larger PPE Aluminum one to hopefully get a little cooling action when towing. Jeep is on the hoist, oil is drained, bolts are removed, I can not get the pan to break loose. Any Suggestions?

Dead blow hammer…. Don’t smash it- but a tap should break the seal. The upper oil pan is aluminum…. So don’t recommend prying at all…

Use a paint scraper to gingerly break the gasket while working slowly around it. Make sure to clean the surface of the block before you put the new pan on whether it’s a new gasket or RTV paste

Thank you for the info. Finally got it off with some wood shims working my way around the pan. Then very carefully used a flat scraper a scotchbrite pad and some brake cleaner to get the rest of the RTV off. That stuff is bonded well! Now the installation!!

When you install your new oil pan, it is best to use the Mopar ThreeBond RTV sealer. It is the OE sealer, and I use it on any oil pan installation where the sealer is RTV.
