I have a bed cover. I lay a beach towel on the bed cover, slide the top back enough to sit the back edge on the towel and then I tip it up. From there, I slide it to the driver side on the towel and carry it away.

Thanks for the info, how heavy would you say it is?

Weight isn't necessarily the problem, It's more so that it's a bit awkward moving it around. Old blankets and short, planned-out moves is the key

4 eye bolts in the ceiling of my garage, 4 cam buckle straps. Lift each corner a little, hook a strap to that corner, and pull it up. I do all 4 a little at a time until it's just up high enough for me to pull out of the garage and leave the hard top hanging there. (Don't forget to take a little bit or rake into account). Only needs hoisted about 2 inches really. Then it's stored until I'm ready to re-attach it.

Re-attach is just the opposite, park underneath it exactly where the top needs to go, and slowly let each corner down until it's resting on the truck. When it's about a half inch I remove the hook and set it the rest of the way down on the tub, corner by corner.

Edit: I should say "then it just hangs there until I'm ready to re-attach it". I don't take it down and store it somewhere.

This is what I use, same setup (with some changes) that i used with my 2011 Wrangler and now with my Gladiator. One person setup. I only use the strap in the corner when the top stays up on the lift for the summer.

This was about 250 bucks plus the 2x6s and took me about 4 hours to install. Makes it very easy and I just keep it lofted to the ceiling for storage.

This is how I have been removing, storing and reinstalling the hardtop for my 1998 Wrangler TJ. I'm 76 and weak as a kitten, but I can handle this by myself. If I ever remove the top on my JT, I intend to do it the same way.

The previous riggings from other replies to your question our great solutions. I bought A kit from Quadratec, simple step by step instructions. My garage configuration with the roof trusses was different to some so I had to do some extra rigging and leveling. Piece of cake just back up underneath the lifting apparatus.
