I should have included pictures. Here you go.

I do my JL 2 door the exact same way, even with the rope loops at the front.
A lift would be nice, but this was cheap and works well with my low garage height and other stuff in the way.

I made this to work for my situation, low ceilings and limited floor space.

Nice work! Those hangers are beefy enough to lift the whole truck! Lol ?
I’d like to borrow your hook design ??

Yea I need some more details on how you made the hooks. I have the same issue, super low ceiling height. I have a large carabiner basically that I've wrapped in pool foam and electrical tape. It's the only part of my lift system I really hate.

i open the doors, remove freedom panels, open the little window, remove all the hardware, climb in teh back of the truck, reach in teh window with one hand and grab the outside edge with the other and lift. Shuffle to teh tailgate, set the top down at an angle and let it rest on the bed side. hope out and grab it again and carry it to the garage and set it on teh work bench. Its super light. and reverse the process when putting it back on.

This was about 250 bucks plus the 2x6s and took me about 4 hours to install. Makes it very easy and I just keep it lofted to the ceiling for storage.

Are the straps going through the back window?

It's hard to tell based on the photos.

I have a bed cover. I lay a beach towel on the bed cover, slide the top back enough to sit the back edge on the towel and then I tip it up. From there, I slide it to the driver side on the towel and carry it away.
Yep, I do the same exact thing. Then I store it on the floor sitting on one of those foldable exercise mats

Thanks. Do you have anything padding it to protect that rubber window seal?
No, the way the weather stripping lays, I just make sure it's folded in so no pressure is on them. Then they don't get pinched or kinked.
