Better incentives in February on leftover 23s?

That is the floor plan finance interest. They just pay more interest over time it sits but the rate does not necessarily go higher as punitive over time.

I've seen some good discounts at a couple dealerships I've reached out to. But then again I'm being *super* picky about what I would want if I were to trade in my truck. Mostly due to financial limitations XD The dealership in KY that I most recently did the KBB "value my trade" thing in worked for 2 days to say that they didn't have anything they could do for me (which i was open with up front. I told them that with my financial limitations they wouldn't be able to get me into a gray '23 Rubicon Diesel with cloth seats, cold weather package, 3 pc hard freedom top, 8.4" infotainment with 9 speaker alpine, and the tow package XD).
They asked if I was interested in a used vehicle and I told them the same thing - if they can get me into a truck with at least 80k miles on the powertrain warranty I'd be willing to at least look into it.
Some dealerships are trying hard to make some sales.
Oh - for reference they have the 15% from Jeep which was 10,300, and they were offering 6200 off themselves. 68k truck for 52k so a little over 20% off the window sticker in total. Not too terrible.

I just bought one. Here are the numbers:

2023 Gladiator Rubicon
$46,478 cash price, which included a GPS tracking device for $800 and all dealer fees
MSRP $62,210
25.3% off msrp

I found dealers offering even better deals, but then they were trying to tack on a bunch of stuff after. I decided that this was close to the best I was going to do, and I needed a new vehicle as my truck took a shit and was not going to be fixed soon enough.

I am very happy with the price given the shenanigans of the past several years. Over 25% off this soon after the biggest price gouging in history seems a steal. Could the prices get better on the 23s? Absolutely. Was I willing to risk waiting for another 5% or so? No. The number of 23s left on the lots in the Rubicon trim around me were thinning rapidly.

This is how I was looking at it as well but then I came to the realization that the MSRP's on JTR's is so high that even with 25% off they are only just approaching what they should actually cost and that made me throw up a little.

If you tack on a few options, the price skyrockets. LED headlights, cold weather package and a hard top alone tacks on almost $6000. Its another $2000 for the auto tranmission. And those are just basic items. Like I want some good headlights, not some prehistoric halogens on my almost $70000 truck. And I live in Utah so I want a hard top and heated seats like I have in my crap box Chevy Bolt.

25% is better than 0%, but its almost like this was part of Jeeps strategy. They jack the MSRP's up through the roof and then hand out discounts to make people feel like they are getting a killer deal. A Gladiator Rubicon had a starting price of $43800 in 2020, and 44200 in 2021. 2023 its $52000.

If you are flexible for certain option and not set on a limited run color, you have time. If not, time is not your friend.

This. Great deals out there now, and if you're shopping off the lot, the more time that goes by, the less you get to pick from? Depends on your needs and wants I suppose.

I caved at 52 on my 64k List JTR, Now I'm seeing them for 49...but I got what I wanted. The ones left are all missing one thing or another.

I've been looking at possibly trading in mine for higher trim level and have been talking to some different dealerships. One dealership isn't offering any additional deals other than the 15% but offered $43K trade-in and another which is offering way better incentives only offered $31K trade-in and said there is no way they can get to $43K plus the $5k of dealer add-ons they supposedly already did to the vehicle that is not on the price and tell you after the fact to get the price back up. I'm going to wait another couple months and see what happens.

My understanding is that Stellantis has given sizeable holdback money to the dealerships with remaining 22's to apply towards discounting to move them out. If the dealerships are not discounting them comparatively to 2023's, they are being greedy in hopes of eventual sale and better margins on them.

Holy crap, I can't believe there's dealers out there still holding onto 22's!! Can't imagine the interest they've paid on that.

I agree wholeheartedly. The prices of new and used vehicles are obscene. What was even worse was seeing 2020 used models with 35k miles asking more than I just paid for a brand new 2023.

The base price of this thing was $51,245. I agree that the $2k for the automatic trans, the $595 paint charge, and the $1,995 for the hard top as OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT are stupid high, like price gouging. I think all of those should be free.

When you add to those the leather bucket seats, tow package, auxiliary switch group and body colored fender flares, it's over $10k in OPTIONS. It's ludicrous.

I did the best I could right now, and I needed a vehicle. I have been waiting years to buy while watching everything escalate higher and higher. I don't know how and where all this price inflation ends, but it's absurd.

Yes I'm absolutely ok with that… As someone new to Jeep I’m just surprised at how much inventory is available in 24 on 23 models..,

Jeep kept building the 2023's until the end. My dealer just received newly built 2023's last week.

Both were like, ok cool.

These conversations were both via phone and text as both dealerships are over an hour away. I didn't want to drive over an hour if the numbers don't make sense. I am sure it would be a little different if I was in person but I don't I'm not in a rush to get a new car either. If it works out great if not no big deal. Figure I'll wait till some more 24 start hitting the lots and see if the 23's get better discounts.

Completely agree--I was looking for a diesel Rubi with ACC/cold weather/front cam/leather in a color other than black, white or grey. When you're spending at or over $50k for a new truck, I would 100% rather pay a few thousand more to get exactly what I want as opposed to settle for something less than. If the plan is to only keep it for 2-3 years, then, by all means, compromise on the options/color and wait for the biggest discounts..........

Looks like inventory levels on 23s went up by a few hundred with over 800 yet to be delivered…I inquired about a new 22 still out there but I could buy a 23 cheaper… IDK ..

I’ve been attempting to deal on a 22 rubicon at a dealer near Lexington KY.. they are ridiculously high.. it’s been a loaner.. 1100 miles.. I sent a bunch of comparables.. won’t budge.. I can buy a 23 cheaper… which is fine I am ok to keep looking… but from a business view I don’t see how this makes sense…nevertheless I’ll keep searching

I dont know about your area, but here those exact trucks your are talking about are still in transit. I have one with all of those features I have been watching that isnt supposed to even land at the dealer until Feb.
