My question is, if you were able to remove the full bushing housing from the shock, when you put the sheet metal in, would you be able to remove the bushing housing from the stock shock, and swap them out ?
Because the Rubi bushings were not the same size.. They would not fit in the Mojave shocks. Also they are a huge PITA to remove even with a 20 ton press..

JET_83 post up pics of your Mojave so we can see your set up. We may be able to help point you in the right direction of your terrible riding Mojave.

load range with larger wheels plays a big part In ride quality
Gladly when I get home, I don't haul anything with it and I rotate and balance regularly, wheels are the premium Mopar ones

I should've just went overland from the start I suppose, I rarely ever offroad and I'm mainly on pavement.

Weird that you guys are having ride quality issues with your Mojave. I test drove a Rubicon, Overland, and Mojave and to me the Mojave was the best ride of the 3. The Rubicon was ridiculously floaty and felt like all the shocks did was dampen hard impacts, but also felt like riding a boat up and down on waves constantly. Same feeling when turning, it leaned haaaaard into corners and felt like the truck was getting away from its wheels, if that makes sense. The Overland had a decent street ride and felt the most car-like, but didn't do much to dampen sharp impacts going over bumps. The Mojave to me had the best of both worlds, it soaks up big impacts with minimal jarring, but also doesn't rebound half a dozen times after every bump and float up and down.

I'm sure the overland will be the best riding of all the trims but not near as capable off road.
Also it’s been pulling to the left since 400 miles on it and still not resolved.

Well JET, thanks for posting the pics. Ride is subjective, but It’s hard to imagine I would ever call the Mojave ride trash on a stock set up. Seeing that your Mojave is stock it’s hard to believe you would be happy with any trim level if you are not happy with the Mojave ride, but I guess it is possible for someone.

Are your tires possibly load range E Instead of C? They do make both in that tire size. You can check the side wall of the tire to make sure.

Does anyone have the specs on the shock mounting bolts ? For the Mojave and the rubicon / sport models ? I wanna make my own bushings. I like the idea of the sheet metal, but would rather have a solid sleeve.

Spot on. I went from an Overland to Rubi and its exactly the way you describe it. The first time I went over one of the giant overpasses here in Texas in my Rubi duing 70 mph I had to slow way down - the Overland handled it without the swaying and bouncing.

Did you ever get the bolt specs? Need to do the same and would prefer a solid sleeve vs sheet metal.

Just a note here. It looks like you have everything except the front hydraulic bump stop. I haven't been able to confirm this, but some of the lift might come from the installation of those. "IF" they do add extra lift in the front, then your setup would be potentially pushing the shocks in farther at ride height. That could cause the shocks to ride in the next zone which is increased damping and could make the ride harsh. I cannot prove this, but just maybe be aware.

For someone reading through this and swapping Mojave shocks, this is a good thread to go through:

The hydraulic bump stops do not raise the jeep at all. They will however decrease the amount of uptravel until the bumpstops hit. I'm not familiar with the Fox ones so I'm not sure by how much (something to check), just like if you did the cheaper Teraflex foam/spring ones.

I used similar to these 12x14x20mm sleeves over the bolts so I didn't have to drill anything.

Excellent links and advise. I loved changing to the Mojave shocks and they completely changed my opinion of the Jeep. I had a sport, then got new take off Rubicon (worst of the three), then went to the Mojave shocks which made me keep the Jeep.
