Major bummer. There's a few dozen Jeeps out there with the trail cam - and I suspect two or three of the owners might like good locks

You can use the JL bolt lock and either trim your grill a few posts and videos on this or just have a key copy made and not have to cut the grill at all that’s what I did
So your saying this will fit my 2020 Max Tow even though the site says will not fit a JT. I don’t mind if I have to trim a bit. I was just afraid it wouldn’t line up or something,. Can’t understand why they don’t make a specific lock for the JT? Go figure, I’m sure it would sell. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it'll fit just not look factory like the JL grille. I can't believe the JT has been out for 5 years now and they can't make a JT grille insert for this lock

This is what it looks like without trimming the grill

They could always pay for the AEV bumper with the winch guard and get the relocation kit, which I think looks ridiculously fragile going through any kind of high brush ?

I just installed mine Saturday and I really was not looking forward to cutting into my grill so I cut the rubber cover off. I cut a circle from one of those flat advertising fridge magnets the size of the lock and stuck it on as a cover so you can't see the silver lock at least. It is still on after 2 days of driving around, so far so good. I think the cover is a good idea but there have been the same type of locks exposed on the doors and trunks of cars for a very long time and I do not remember ever hearing of any major problems.

they have other accessory locks like padlocks, hitch pin lock etc. In the process of looking into those, I read the negative reviews on amazon. Quite a few where the cylinder locks up and just spins. I think I trust a Master lock to still operate after a few years out in the weather... not sure they're quite there with this product though. Cutting off a hitch pin or hood lock is going to be an ordeal.

Anyway, I'd start by leaving the rubber cover on. And very curious about maintenance procedure too, if I end up getting the accessory locks
Sorry for quoting myself but I'm following up. I ended up ordering the Bolt padlock and hitch pin lock. And actually I'm super impressed. Very heavy, really nice solid mechanical action. Comes with the moving parts packed in white lithium grease (should help displace water). The one-time self-keying action feels very odd and crunchy, but once it's done the pins feel very mechanically precise. If anything freezes up it should just be a matter of WD40, get them moving again, then repack with white lithium

Dry graphite probably not the way to go with these, FYI.

So I went to go purchase the Bolt hood lock kit and discovered this. Is there a reason? Did they never make a kit specifically for the different sized honeycomb vents on the JT? I found one on Mopar Genuine Parts but it has the smaller grill vents.

It’s really no big deal. I have one and you can’t even see it. Bolt makes it for mopar I’m almost sure.

I’ve had their padlocks, hitch locks, and the hood lock for quite some time. I think I have 6 padlocks and 3 or 4 hitch locks. They’re all amazing and have never had any issues with constant rain, snow, dirt, etc.

Yeah I've had 2 hitch locks from them. Didn't touch the one for years on the XK, but just moved it to the JT and had zero issues with taking it off.

I just wish they made a disc lock! So much exposed shank on the regular padlocks

Yeah. Padlocks are just deterrents. I use four of them on two bear proof coolers. Bears don’t have bolt cutters. If a fellow camper steals my beer or food, they’re obviously aholes. Other than that, I prefer padlocks for trailer couplers. It won’t stop trailer theft, but I like it better for safety than a cotter pin.
