Had two codes come up this morning, P061B and P062B but can't find anything on the forums or google about anyone else with Gladiator or even jeeps having these codes come up. P061B is coming up on my reader as Internal Control Module Torque Calculations and P062B is Internal Control Module Fuel Injectors. I just had the fuel pump in the tank replaced as it was not producing the proper pressure after replacing the HPFP.

Has anyone seen these codes before? I take it is either going to be a sensor or maybe harness related.

Quick google search.

What does p061b code mean?
  • The P061B code stands for “Internal Control Module Torque Calculation Performance.” This means the powertrain control module made a torque calculation error. Issues with the PCM, sensor problems, and wiring issues can trigger the code. Some symptoms to look out for include poor engine performance, ignition difficulties, and stalling. Contentshide

What does code p062b mean?
  • When a code P062B is stored, it means that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an internal performance error with the fuel injection control system. Other controllers may also detect an internal PCM performance error (in the fuel injection control system) and cause a P062B to be stored.

That's what i saw on google as well, but didn't see anything specific to jeeps or gladiators so was just wondering if anyone else have seen these two codes. Guess I will just wait and see what the dealer says next week.

It's a standard code so you won't see anything "specific to Jeeps". Most codes are universal or standard. Each company does have some of their own that don't translate over to other makes/models but generic codes will be exactly as you found. Most of the time it's not going to tell you 'here's the part that is bad, replace this part'. It will only point to an area in most cases.

Saw some post on the ford forums and other diesel forums, so was hoping that maybe someone had some experience with them on here.

Both the P061B and P062B DTC troubleshooting procedures call out looking for problems with power & ground to the PCM, or wiring issues to/from the PCM. If no issues are found yet the codes still kick out, then replace and reprogram the PCM.

In a related search I did find reference to these two codes in Jeep TSBs, though none specifically for the Gladiator. One or both codes are found in the following:
The prescribed fix for all is to reflash the PCM/TCM with the latest software.

Thanks, I will check those out.

Just in case anyone is wondering.

All the wiring and sensors checked out OK when tested, so the dealer said that the PCM is just not computing the input information properly causing the two codes to popup. They ordered a new PCM and hopefully resolves the issue.

The dealer replaced the PCM and said that it was ready for pickup .Got it this morning, and while i was leaving the dealerships parking lot, it started to make the same rattling noise while under acceleration that occurred previously when it stalled on me. So, did a uturn and dropped it off at the dealer again. I was hoping that i could get someone to ride with me while it was happening, but of course no diesel techs work on Friday. So, it is going to sit over the weekend and wait for monday when the diesel tech is back in.

Unfortunately, it looks like I am going to start the buyback process. This is the 4th time in less than 2 months that the jeep has been in the dealer and every time something is replaced and the dealer says all good, it starts acting the same way.
