Great time of year for Jeeps here in the Northeast! I have a great time with my stock hardtop during cold and icy winter months (Nov-April) and switch to my Mopar twill Premium Soft Top during better weather (April-Nov). It's been fantastic having both tops. Would never go back to owning just one. Both offer tons of flexibility and roof opening options. Last year I removed the hard top with myself and a friend. The steps were very easy, but it is awkward, heavy, and not easy to manipulate. This year, I'm thinking of buying the Gladiator TopLift Pro. It is used to lift off the hard top very easily and it stores right on the lift.

QUESTION: Has anyone else here bought a lift like this, and what did you think? Thx.

Wow, $1,000 seems steep for that.

Considering how little is needed for the Gladiator top and how light it is, a simple pulley setup would be nicer in my mind, and much cheaper.

I'll admit that I'm spoiled as I've installed an electric winch in my rafters for loading/unloading things like RTTs and cargo, but that was still cheaper to do and also allows me to store whatever I'm removing up high and out of the way.

Pistols or sabres? ;)

I would agree that for no larger and heavier than the JT hardtop is, the linked hoist is rather pricey and overkill.

Way lighter right? It doesn’t have that entire back to deal with.

it’s quite easy to lift with two people and put it on one of those carts (and way cheaper)

I mean...It's cool and all but I prefer a ceiling mounted hoist. Lots of real-estate up there if you are able to do it. I see this lift just taking up too much floor space in-use or not.

My reasons for buying the TopLift Pro -- I have used a pulley system in the past. My current
garage doesn't quite have enough ceiling height now. Also, getting someone to help me at my remote home location is not always easy. Quite a few glad owners have decided to use the Hardtop Hotel service. They come to your home or business, take off and take away/store your hardtop, and install your soft top. In the Fall they do it in reverse. Their fee for a Gladiator is $828.00 per year plus a $100.00 per year to remove/install. fee. They do many of them all over the country. That's why I got a TopLift Pro removal and move lift device.. They go for $899, last many years, have wheels to move it anywhere, and you easily store the hardtop right on the lift device. It doesn't take up much more space in the garage. They can easily be used by one person, and with no difficulty. I've had Wranglers, and I know they're heavier, but this device is so easy to use, you can move it around all you want, and you can do the swap easily by yourself any time you want.
