I know it’s been asked, yes I searched.
shadow said dry graphite lube, I like that idea.
I’ve heard antiseize, gun lube. Some random German spray can…all sorts of things.

do you think chain wax would work, hold up?
I have some left over from an old motorcycle and was curious.

I do have dry graphite lock lube spray as well.
Wd-40 seems pointless as it doesn’t last as a lube (in my experience).

if none of those what has proven to be the best? I don’t really plan to take doors off much. The bent pin issue is concerning. So if I do take them off I’d prefer to lube them properly so I don’t get issues later.

Sounds good. That’s what this stuff is, it’s like a chain wax.

I’ve seen others put an insert in, guessing it’s so the two different metals don’t interact?

Replacing the bushings with Delrin liners is the route I took.

The '98 TJ I bought in 2014 never had the doors off.
I've been using multi-purpose grease I already had on hand.

If you do not want to get grease on your Lululemon,
Vaseline would probably work.

I use Sailkote because I always have a can for the boat. Very popular in marine field because No visible residue at all. It’s dry so it won’t attract dirt, salt ect. If you take your doors off all the time you won’t get grease on your pants on the way to work.

I use it on all my boat turning blocks, hardware and spray it on a very nice black carbon sail to keep the telltales from sticking. I figure if it won’t damage that anything on the truck is going to be fine.

I ordered a set of these for our JK and JT and have had them on both jeeps for 3yrs. Plastic and not metal so no metal on metal issues. No issues.

I'm seeing these made from plastic, copper and brass. Don't know which material would be better.

I think that depends on your location and environmental factors.

The ones I have are plastic. Installed them when I was in TX. They've lasted through the 110+ heat in TX and now in FL. Haven't had an issue with them in either jeep. And I take the doors off of my JT pretty regularly. I've never lubed them or anything.

WD40 isn't a lube - doesn't last worth @#$%

The hinge isn't steel - try to stick a magnet on it.
