We bought a low-mileage 2021 Gladiator with a flat tow set-up. We don't want to remove it but want to figure out a way, if possible, to cover up the hitch. I don't know what brand of hitch it is, and Google Lens isn't helping. We don't need a winch, and I'm not sure a grill guard or other bumper could be installed without removing the hitch. Any ideas? Thanks!

I’d just remove the sucker unless you own a motor home.
Yeah, there is that. After I told my husband it was a few bucks to install (we also have the braking system) we thought keeping it might be good for a resale, whenever that would be. But I don't want to be annoyed by it for a few years.

Thanks, Russ! I had run across Blue Ox while doing a search, but I didn't know enough to assess that we had this base plate. (One of us will roll under there to try to confirm.) I'm sure my husband will take one look at the instructions and say "hell, no" to uninstalling it. This info gives me much more to work with, though. Thanks!

That looks like a Roadmaster base plate. I have one. The other pieces looks more like a brake away device used incase the toad brakes away from the RV.

Be careful if you decide to remove the base plate as they have to remove some bracing parts to install. Perhaps the PO kept them.

Another way to “hide” the thing it to spray the thing flat black. People other than you will barely notice it.

I'll look up that brand, thanks. Good advice about the base plate and bracing parts--I'll certainly keep that in mind.

Oh, and flat black paint is a great idea. Thanks!

To me. It looks like the Blue Ox I had on my Grand Cherokee. The plug ins for the tow bar and the attachment points for the safety cables. The one plug is the safety break away switch. The other plug is for the cable for the lights.

It will cost you plenty to have it removed, i know. I just installed same hitch on 3 rd jeep. I have a winch and stubby bumper and that leaves the hitch a lot more exposed than yours. Yours doesnt look bad to me at all. Spray some flat black on rusty receivers and you wont even see it. If you want to sell jeep braking system call me 832-640-7006, chuck

Roger that. It all makes sense. Thanks for the additional info.
