need an excuse for hemi swap lol. wring her out dammmit.
I just can’t stomach the thought of shelling out $70k for all that change over, though it would be awfully nice to have. I’m actually quite content with the power this engine has and how quiet it runs.
I was thinking further into what could have mucked up this plug and that it smells like oil and I recall when the truck went back in, the morning after the first oil change and dump of 12L and the discovery of all the oil in the intake system, the tech notes say he took off all the upper stuff and plugs and cleaned it all out.

So that was in October 2022. In the summer of 23 and about 15-20k kms later I gave the intake the Sea Foam treatment (mid day -MISTAKE) then drove it like I stole it out of my quiet and peaceful community, leaving zero visibility for anyone driving behind me! I mean, the white smoke was so thick, I was beyond embarrassed.

So I don’t know if the intake was really cleaned or could be cleaned by the tech but that hot soaked Sea Foam told a different story and I think all the plugs look like this too.

? smoke is a bit funny imo. the swap is only 32-40k as it is quote per customer based on what you want done. 70k would be a hellcat swap or a 426 with a really nice lift kit. Just a 392 isn't that bad, for what your getting imo. a hand built to better than OE spec V8 midsize pickup. considering what companies like Land Rover and Mercedes charge for their hand built vehicle. The price makes more sense. Also considering that most of that cost is in TLC labor, and they discount if you "trade in" your old powertrain rather than try and take it home. just call AMW4x4, you'd be amazed about how polite and transparent they are. They even said they can work with insurance if you blow your old motor and want to use insurance money to pay for most of the swap. I do recommend that you call an insurance broker and see what you'll need to properly cover your "investment". As soon as i blow my motor out of warranty, I'm swapping. all said and done i'll have spent less than what a 392 wrangler would have cost. 50k truck, with 32k swap vs 128k 392 wrangler.

You should probably do a complete plug change on all cylinders. I am willing to bet 90% of that spark plug fouling was from the engine oil overfill. Since you have to take the intake off for the drivers side spark plug access, good time to actually clean out that intake 100%.

Fouling, yes, but that is literally physical plug damage, akin to detonation ....except the spotting and other signs are not there. That's not all oil fouling by a long shot.

He really should just park it on the sketch side of town and let it get stolen and take the insurance and go buy something else. Just kidding.............kinda.

So, update you all on how the engine ran after the spark plug replacement.
Let’s just say all the ponies begged to be spanked and I couldn’t hold them back. Wait till I replace all the plugs.

Gap in plug sure looks Large
.............and note my closeup - that center electrode is literally damaged - burned or otherwise the end is messed up. Looks like a melted ball on the tip of that electrode. Physical damage.
Mine - I'd be really concerned of some other problem that caused that plug to look like that.

Yes it was. The one out of the box was tighter. You may ask “how tight?” And I’d say I don’t know, just tighter. I will have to ask if the plugs in the box were pre gapped or not and just fix the one I put in or not.

I’m curious if the oxygen sensors or cats got messed up down stream of the oil mess, would they communicate with the MAF sensor the wrong info and cause the combustion to burn hotter?

There should have been messages similar to "out of range" or that sort of thing.
This is weird and part of it is - I've seen that appearance on a spark plug before, but 50 years of looking at spark plugs - well, these days, the pathways to certain memories are not what they used to be. Can't just plug in new, faster RAM, I guess. Stuck with the old 640K.

Just watch the Matrix again. That’s how upgrades are done
