Dealership wanted $500 to do it. Got everything for $240 from advance auto and a guy is gonna throw them in for $100 on Thursday Morning. Does that seem like a pretty good deal. It's more work than I'd like to tackle and I need it done before we leave out on Friday to tow our camper to the beach. I got 91000 miles on the jeep and have been getting a little bit of rough idle and I'm hoping that will give the problem. No codes or lights but it's been doing it off and on after it sits. Seem to be fine while your driving or once it gets warm.

That sounds like some inexpensive labor. I would help him (as much as possible) do the job, and probably offer him lunch when it's done.
I thought the same thing but he explained the process and said he could have it done in a hour. He has a Gladiator as well so I'm just going with it. I was planning on it being at least $200 for the labor.

Anyone run Autolite plugs in their JT, I ran them in my 2010 Wrangler but haven't had any expericene with them in a JT. I am assuming still ok quality. It's gonna be either those or champion, I bought the Autolite but if I hear a bunch no's I'll take them back and get the champions. Only a $15 difference in price.

That sounds even better. I would stand back and tell him to holler if he needs anything.

How long you keep it sitting for? Try running some Seafoam through it?

I put Autolite plugs in my 2020 Gladiator and it seemed fine. Only ran them maybe 10K miles before I traded it in. Reputation wise though, Autolite has a spotty one across a lot of vehicles and I would say get the Champions since they are the OEM plugs. I just took on the risk of Autolites because that was what's available at the time when I needed them.

At 91,000, he likely really needs plugs.
That's one thing I won't typically go the max on - spark plugs.
I know they say 100,000 miles, but seriously, not me. He's SO close to that 100,000 anyway and for 100 bucks, heck yes.

I'd not run anything through it until I looked closely at the spark plugs to get a reading on how things are inside physically, oil-wise and so on.

If I ran anything through it - it would be after I looked at plugs.

I don't think Bill said either way, only that you're due for a change.

Personally, I usually run the best plugs I can buy for the vehicle unless I'm planning on unloading it in the near future. Decent plugs are a cheap investment in accurate spark, and given the finicky nature of modern engines (and random CELs) , it's a small increase in price for consistent spark as the mileage gets up there.

In Ms. BourbonRunner's 2013 Subaru last week I installed NGK Iridium plugs, as I did 60K miles ago. #1 Cyl misfired. Here's the pic of the 4 compared to the brand new of the same thing.
Jeep Gladiator $340 to do the coil packs and spark plugs IMG_0900

It slurps a half quart of 0w20 every 1500 miles, has already had the rings, valves, and guides replaced under a Subaru TSB. It's not long for this world and likely will be traded in on a new vehicle.

** I was hoping the maintenance I did last week would help it limp along another few months but no dice. If I had planned on buying another car I'd have done el cheapo plugs and saved $25.

I’m honestly surprised the dealership was only going to charge 500 for all that, sounds fair in this day and age.
That was with me buying the 3 oil change and tire rotation package for $179 which seemed super cheap to me as well. I bought that and he said they would do the spark plugs and coil packs for $500. That would of been fair as well.
