For $70K. It should come with all the options as standard.
For serious, the cost differential between my 22’ JTR and the 70k is enough for the accessory list minus the no value added cosmetic frills.

I love jeep but they go overboard with these ‘special’ releases on a truck that is already the most modular on the market. With MSRPs far out of (responsible) reach for a large % of the customer base it’s a bit out of touch.

They still don't get it.
Well, they’re not bankrupt … when the jeep wave crashes, they’ll put their brains together to provide what the public wants … I think just last year, that wave might have begun crashing.

pickup truck with only a high revving V6, cmon, it doesn’t excite! Every other vehicle in FCAs portfolio (aside from rebadged fiats) comes with a hemi or a big hemi, or a big hemi with a blower … but jeeps most profitable, most adventurous vehicle is still straddled with a crap motor?!?!

I have had a couple ecodiesel, and for the FIRST time I can say that power is not a concern AT ALL. I’ve had the 4.0, 3.8, 3.6 and 3.0 motors …

Ram Heavy Duty still uses the 6.4L Hemi in the 2500/3500, otherwise, the Hemi has been discontinued.

True … replace what I said with the word “did” … I’m shocked a Wrangler (or gladiator I guess), got a diesel before a hemi. A 5.7 would be a perfect choice.

whatever, bring on the batteries.

I'll be honest, I would not have bought a new 2023 Gladiator if it didn't have the diesel. I don't dislike the Pentastar, but the diesel is what sold me.

I'm not sure why the Wrangler and/or Gladiator wasn't offered with a Hemi. It seems like Jeep missed an opportunity. Do we know for sure if the Wrangler/Gladiator will get the Hurricane?

Logic would lean towards yes, imagine a single engine platform, 4 cylinder turbo to replace the pentastar, turbo 6 to replace hemi and HO Turbo 6 to replace 392. I’d imagine the 6.4 sticking around as a heavy duty option. I can’t imaging a commercial gas truck with a 3.0 turbo. HOWEVER, if they make a turbo 6 reliably operate where a 6.4 sat in a commercial setting, I’d be impressed, but I doubt it.

but I believe the hurricane is just speculation.

I very much dislike the pentastar, it’s great in a car, but it’s not a truck motor. I especially hate the computer as it interprets what it thinks you want to do, versus just doing it… but these high strung motors have a lot of controls over pinging, torque management, emissions, etc.

Even if we got the standard hurricane 6, a swap to an HO wouldn’t be difficult. But back to having a high strung motor, how will it last if it’s in constant boost pushing a brick through the air?

that where the hemi and the old 4.0 really shined. It can go full throttle, mid RPM all day long. I know the 4.0 can, and does, haha.

Like many, I disliked the 3.6 — until I got a JL that was geared well: auto + factory 4:88s on 35s. It’s got a lot of low end grunt now and without any of the turbo lag. Damn turbos can get you in trouble when trying to pull out into heavy traffic. However short the turbo lag is, it seems 10x longer when traffic is coming fast.

Really is a shame 4:56 and 4:88 are not being offered on the JT.

Will it still rust? Sorry....just found rust on my '22 Rubicon hood. Disappointed with Jeep right now, so purchasing another one, regardless of the cost and limited edition, is probably not gonna happen. 😕

Let's see a Hemi 392 Gladiator. I'm not sure why there is a 392 Wrangler but not a Gladiator. The 3.6 Penstar is grossly underpowered for a pickup, that will be lifted and is supposed to tow trailers.
Umm, I don't know man, lots of subjective opinion there. "Supposed to tow trailers" is a huge stretch. I have a 3500 Ram dually with a Cummins diesel as my tow vehicle. And my V6 Pentastar has PLENTY of grunt for my tastes. The thing scoots along just fine. With the 8 speed tranny, it's always in the right gear and I have never thought "I need more power."

Did I mention I'm at nearly 6,500 feet? For a naturally aspirated engine, it's doing just fine. I easily crest the 7,200 ft pass with light throttle at 65 mph. Instead of power wars, I'm interested in fuel mileage wars.

290hp / 2whatever torque is not underpowered in its class, or for vehicles in general. I think that 350-400 would be the sweet spot with some lower end torque. A 392 or even the old 6.1 would be great in it though yes.

The problem is, it’s already overpriced and $90k+ for a jeep is completely ridiculous for its interior finishes, surfaces and technology.

I wouldn’t say it’s under powered. I wish Livernois tunes didn’t void warranties!

My old v8 Tundra could tow a Space Shuttle. Love my Gladiator, but that little gas engine and my big tires add up to 35 mph climbing hills with my tractor in tow. More power please.
