Does the Fuel Filler Door have a manual release?

I assisted a lady this morning at the gas station. She had a new Volvo and her fuel filler door would not open. Searching online, I found that her car has an emergency release cable located in the trunk behind the trunk panel. I just had to remove a few clips to get to it and it was very simple. It made me wonder what would I do if it happened on my Gladiator? Does the Gladiator have a manual release? I did a search online and, on this site, and did not see an answer.

WDYM? its not electric or cable operated. Its just a plunger and spring clip. If the plunger fails you can still flick it open like old school filler doors.

If you're concerned the fuel door will fail and you won't be able to fill up, buy a small plastic trim tool, put it in glove box, you'll be able to pop the door open.

Thanks for the responses. You really never know until it happens. I was not sure and did not just want to yank on it if the spring mechanism failed. Some of the searches were showing people prying it open with a screwdriver and possibly damaging the paint

The JT fuel filler door has no latching mechanism, it's held shut only by spring pressure. Even in the flush/closed position you can still fairly easily open it with your fingernail or suitable implement.

Just run it through the car wash. I've seen a few complaints about the fuel door coming open during a wash.

many cars have this feature/problem. When my wife’s Mini locks her car so does the filler door I guess to keep people from stealing gas. However if something fails, you have to go through the trunk to open it.
